Ngayong ikatlong taon, buong puso naming muling inilulunsad ang ๐—จ๐—š๐— ๐—” ๐——๐—”๐— ๐—Ÿ๐—”๐—š โ€“ A SIBOL โ€˜EduKasyonโ€™ Initiative.

Makiisa. Magbahagi. Magbigay pag-asa.

Padayon! ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฑ

Compiled by Kalikasining, with the help of members from the Philippine Native Tree Enthusiasts, Coโ€™s Digital Flora of the Philippines, Lokalpedia, the Hukbatala team, and other groups.

A comprehensive list and collection of posters that began in 2021 and have been continuously updated and expanded up to 2025.

These posters are made for educational purposes only. These posters are free for everyone to use as a guide for Philippine native edible fruits, seeds, and nuts. A compilation of some of the common and rare and underutilized Philippine native edible fruits, seeds, and nuts.

Baka may magtanong po bakit walang Bayabas, Avocado, Aratiles, Makopa, Kaimito, Chico, Duhat, Indian Mango, Sampalok, Papaya, Durian, Anonas, Guyabano, Langka, Atis, Pinya, Mangosteen etc?
(Post from Lokalpedia)
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1625502101184131&id=100011730706454&mibextid=Nif5oz

Special thanks to Sir Jayson Mansibang for helping us with the names, confirming the edibility of other native fruits such as Syzygium and Saurauia species and most members of the Sapotaceae family; to Sir John Sherwin Felix of Lokalpedia for the additional native fruits included in our posters, the layout design, the other photos of native fruits, and for sharing his knowledge about the foods and ingredients found in our country; to Prof. Pastor Malabrigo Jr. for sharing his knowledge about our native trees and other underutilized native edible fruits; to Ma'am Maria Dayan for sharing her knowledge about the underutilized native edible nutmeg species; to Sir Jonathan Carl Salazar for the new template design suggestions for the posters and for the additional information about native edible figs; to Masagana EcoFarms for providing the first-ever list of Philippine native fruits, which initiated the listing and creation of our posters and later inspired the expansion and development of new posters featuring newly listed, discovered, and updated native edible fruits; to Sir Mark Anthony Carranza for the background photo; and to the members of the Philippine Native Tree Enthusiasts, Coโ€™s Digital Flora of the Philippines, the Hukbatala team, and the other people and groups for all the help and information about the Philippine native plants with edible fruits, seeds, and nuts, and for inspiring us about our native plants.

Disclaimer:
Not all fruits shown in the posters are palatable. Some are sweet and pleasant to eat, while others are sour, insipid, bitter, acrid, bland, or astringent. Certain fruits also require proper preparation before eating. Some are wild and can serve as survival food. There are also fruits in the posters that have the potential to be developed into other products and marketed commercially. Knowing these fruits provides us with a list of edible species that can be planted in gardens, farms, or food forests, and can serve as a guide for foraging or to use during emergencies or food scarcity, such as in survival situations. When eating wild fruits, we must be cautious and make sure we know which plants or fruits are edible and which ones are poisonous. It is best to consult someone knowledgeable about edible plants and always double-check if a fruit is truly safe to eat. We should also be careful when eating wild fruits for the first time. As with the other fruits listed, edibility is known primarily from traditional claims by local communities, with a lack of studies on edibility and safety for consumption in large quantities, some are also suggested as edible by certain experts. It is important to know the right stage of ripeness, the proper preparation, and other necessary information to ensure that a fruit is safe to eat.

Please correct us and let us know if there are any species in the posters that are not native or not truly edible. If there are any other Philippine native fruits, edible nuts, or seeds that you know but are not included in the posters, kindly share them along with their scientific names. Also, please include any relevant information if available. Also, please check for possible errors such as incorrect names, scientific names, or photos, so we can edit them immediately. We will continue to update and revise the posters as new information and additional native edible fruits, nuts, and seeds become available. Thank you!

Credits to the rightful owners of the photos โ€” each photo includes proper acknowledgment of its owner.
For educational purposes, to raise awareness, promote, and reintroduce Philippine native plants.

Let us learn more, discover more, plant more, protect, conserve, and save our native plants!
