RIGHT TO CARE? DASMARIÑAS SAID “COUNT US IN!” 💖

Sunod-sunod ang tagumpay para sa inclusive healthcare! Following Quezon City, San Juan City, Iloilo City, and most recently Parañaque City, Dasmariñas City now joins the growing movement of local governments recognizing the right of LGBTIQ+ couples, chosen families, and non-traditional households to compassionate and dignified care.

With Dasmariñas becoming the 5th city in the country to pass a Right to Care ordinance, the message is becoming louder and clearer: policies and healthcare systems must recognize every form of love and family. Inclusive care should not depend on gender, sexuality, or traditional definitions of relationships. 🌈🏥

3 LUNGSOD NA ANG MAY 'RIGHT TO CARE'

Tatlong lungsod na sa bansa ang may healthcare proxy policies o mas kilala bilang "Right to Care" ordinances na pinapayagan ang mga pasyente na pumili ng katiwala na puwedeng gumawa ng medical decisions para sa kanila kapag may emergency.

Layon ng mga ordinansang ito na respetuhin ang mga nais ng mga solo parent, mga single, mga nasa same-sex relationship at mga nasa non-traditional household pagdating sa mga desisyong pangkalusugan.

Ang Iloilo City, na ipinasa ang ordinansa nito noong March 25, 2026, ang pinakabagong lungsod sa listahan.

PARAÑAQUE STEPS FORWARD FOR INCLUSIVE CARE 🌈🏥

Parañaque City has passed the Right to Care Ordinance on third reading last April 30, allowing patients to designate a trusted person as their healthcare proxy—ensuring that partners, chosen family, and loved ones can make medical decisions when needed. The measure also mandates accountability among hospitals and oversight from the city health office.

As the 4th city in the country to adopt this policy, Parañaque joins Quezon City, San Juan City, and Iloilo City in advancing equality in healthcare. A step forward—but the fight continues for nationwide recognition. 🩷
