In response to the collapse of the Agana and Aquino Bridges in Tarlac, compounded by flooding and mobility challenges brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) will implement Alternative Learning Modalities from September 1 to 4, 2026. The measure aims to ensure the continuity of instruction while taking into consideration the safety, accessibility, and mobility of the University community.
The decision was made by the TAU Core Group, composed of University President Dr. Silverio Ramon D. C. Salunson and the four Vice Presidents for Academic and Student Affairs, Finance and Administration, Research and Extension, and Planning and Quality Assurance, after assessing the prevailing conditions and their potential impact on students, faculty, and University operations.

For Tuesday, September 1, 2026, faculty members and non-teaching personnel whose mobility is affected by the current situation shall observe a Work-From-Home (WFH) arrangement, as directed by the University President.
Faculty members affected by the situation shall continue their assigned classes through appropriate Alternative Learning Modalities and remain accessible through official class communication channels. They are expected to provide appropriate learning activities, materials, and instructions to ensure the continuity of learning.
Faculty members and non-teaching personnel whose mobility is not affected by the prevailing situation shall report for work onsite and follow their regular work arrangements.
The work arrangement for the succeeding days shall be announced separately and shall remain subject to further notice, depending on the prevailing conditions and subsequent University directives.
Students are encouraged to regularly monitor their official learning platforms and class communication channels for learning materials, activities, and other instructions from their instructors.
The University continues to closely monitor the situation and will issue verified updates through its official communication channels as necessary.
All members of the TAU community are encouraged to prioritize safety, exercise caution when traveling, and avoid unnecessary travel in areas affected by flooding and other hazards. Everyone is reminded to rely only on official University announcements for verified information and further instructions.
