On April 22, 2026, four Bachelor of Science in Agriculture students majoring in Crop Science from Bicol University Guinobatan successfully completed their 240-hour internship at Muravah Foundation, Inc. The participating interns were Benedict, Edwin, Nelsa, and Katherine.
Throughout the program, the students-interns gained hands-on experience in the primary processing of cacao and conducted extension activities for local farmers. These activities included training in cacao tree maintenance, variety identification, farm tagging, and assessing soil health. Furthermore, the interns demonstrated significant theoretical and technical expertise in Nursery Propagation, Organic Agriculture, and Pomology, all under the guidance of Muravahโs in-house agriculturist and technical experts.
In addition to their field work, the interns provided insightful feedback aimed at improving Muravahโs standards and procedures. Their contributions support the Foundationโs mission to better serve its farmer-partners and achieve its vision of permanently uplifting farmers out of poverty.
Muravah Foundation, Inc. extends its sincere gratitude to the Bicol University officials and faculty who made this partnership possible:
Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III, BU President
Dr. Roscefe B. Dy, BU Guinobatan Dean
Prof. Kim John R. Nate, Crop Science Internship Coordinator.
