The Camalaniugan–Aparri Bridge, inaugurated by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in January 2026, is a 1.58-kilometer cable-stayed bridge in Cagayan Province, connecting the towns of Aparri and Camalaniugan. This critical infrastructure spans the Cagayan River, enhancing connectivity and reducing travel time between eastern and western Cagayan while boosting economic activity.

Key details about the bridge include:

• Total Length: Approximately
kilometers, with a
-meter main cable-stayed span.
• Construction: The project began in 2021 as a joint venture between Agafer Construction and Hunan Road and Bridge Construction.
• Cost & Funding: The Php billion project was funded by the national government through the DPWH.
• Purpose: It aims to improve transport for farmers and fisherfolk and enhance trade in the northernmost areas of Cagayan.
• Design: It is considered one of the most beautiful and well-executed bridges in the country, featuring a 45-ton maximum load capacity.

The bridge provides a much-needed permanent link, replacing or complementing traditional river-crossing methods in the region.
