“𝘈𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵𝘰’𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘴𝘢’𝘺𝘰~”

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲! 🇵🇭

Today, August 31, 2026, we honor the Filipinos who stood against oppression, fought for freedom, and sacrificed for a nation they believed could be better. But remembrance should not end with looking back.

The Philippines we inherit today continues to face questions that demand the same courage and conviction: Where does public money go? Who is held accountable? Who bears the cost when progress comes at the expense of our natural resources? And how do we respond when disinformation, division, and indifference makes it easier to stay silent?

As a Student Government, we remain steadfast in our commitment to raise awareness, encourage critical discussion, and keep our student body informed about the issues that matter. We believe that student leadership does not end within the walls of the school—it begins with understanding the society we are part of.

Our heroes fought for a future they wish to see. We are living in that future. What we do with it is now our responsibility.

Today, we should honor the heroes, question the present, and carry the future forward. 🇵🇭

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿.

Sen. Ninoy Aquino Jr. was a man who faced injustice due to him fighting for democracy, justice, and courage to speak without fear. He fought to end the authoritarian government that was slowly ripping the freedom that the Filipino people held, creating hope that one day, the future generations will freely use their freedom in deciding for themselves.

Everything he stood with, bit by bit is being brought to light. The Filipinos now are able to experience democracy and the ability to choose for themselves. Regardless of a broken system that is led by a tyrant, one person with an indomitable spirit shall make a change.

If dedicating your life to preach for the rights of everyone means that it can make a change. That's why the Filipinos are worth dying for.

Thank you Sen. Ninoy for reminding the Filipinos that there is hope in nation and country surrounded by darkness.

You were a great teacher to all, an amazing role model, and the steadiest shoulder to lean on. Words cannot express how impactful your advice and lessons were—bringing open-mindedness to those lost in the darkness, guiding them to the light for their passion.

Thank you for your service and choosing to be a part of our EDSCI family. Your journey might have ended, but time will not fade the memories you have left in our hearts.

Hiraya manawari, Ginoong Keiel.
