Happy National Heroes Day! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญโœจ Today, we honor both the celebrated names in our history books and the countless unsung heroes who fought silently in the shadows so that we could live in a free and sovereign nation. Their blood, sweat, and unwavering resilience laid the very foundations of the Philippines we call home. Let us never take our freedom for granted and continue to uphold the values they died protecting.

Ninoy Aquino's decision to return to the Philippines on August 21, 1983, knowing the grave risks to his life, remains one of the most powerful acts of patriotism in modern history. His ultimate sacrifice on the tarmac of the Manila International Airport shattered years of silence and fear, serving as the crucial catalyst that reawakened the nation's fight for democracy, freedom, and human rights.
โ€”Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.
