The activity aimed to raise awareness among young people about PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, formerly known as PCOS) and Menstrual Health and diginity, while encouraging participants to develop community-based projects that inspire action and promote these important advocacies.
The seminar began with Dr. Abegail Val Dulay-Famatigo, MD, FPOGS, MMHoA, who shared factual information about PMOS, clarified common misconceptions, and discussed its nature, symptoms, and importance of early awareness. This was followed by Michaela Reyes-Prodigalidad, who delivered an insightful session on Menstrual Health and Dignity, emphasizing the importance of breaking stigma and ensuring access to accurate information and support.
Following the informative discussions, participants were divided into seven groups to brainstorm and develop project proposals that address the challenges surrounding PMOS and menstrual health in their communities. Each group presented their ideas, showcasing innovative and youth-driven solutions that reflected their commitment to creating positive change.
In support of holistic health and wellness, Athena by LoveYourself also provided free HIV testing for participants throughout the event.
The activity empowered participants to move beyond awareness and into action, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration to become advocates for menstrual health, PMOS awareness, and healthier, more informed communities.
