The advocacy campaign, dedicated to promoting menstrual health and dignity within learning spaces, was successfully conducted at Urduja Elementary School through the initiative of Caloocan Young Leaders Initiative , one of the long-time partners of Athena by LoveYourself in advancing responsible sexual health education and community empowerment.

The activity brought together primary and secondary school teachers from different schools across North Caloocan to strengthen conversations on menstrual health, sexual and reproductive health, and inclusive health education in schools.

Representing Athena by LoveYourself, Hub Manager—Kaycee Ragat served as a panelist on Menstrual Health, emphasizing the importance of breaking stigma, promoting proper menstrual hygiene, and ensuring that learners experience dignity, comfort, and support within their communities and educational spaces. Meanwhile, Program Officer—Em Barrera discussed Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), highlighting the importance of informed decision-making, bodily autonomy, consent, access to accurate information, and the protection of every individual’s health and rights.

Committed to creating safe and stigma-free spaces, Athena by LoveYourself also provided free and confidential HIV and Hepatitis B screening services and distributed condoms to participants during the activity.

Conducted last May 14, 2026, this initiative reflects the collective commitment of partner organizations and educators in building healthier, more informed, and empowered communities through education, advocacy, and compassionate action.

Last May 7, 2026, during the semifinals of the SK 179 Volleyball League held at Dela Costa Covered Court, Athena by LoveYourself conducted free and confidential HIV testing and distributed condoms to players, supporters, and community members present at the event.

In partnership with the SK 179 Caloocan City, through SK Kagawad for Gender and Development, Louise Morata, this initiative highlights a shared commitment to bringing HIV awareness, prevention, and accessible services closer to the community — especially in response to the continuously rising HIV cases among key populations in Caloocan City.

Beyond sports, this activity served as a reminder that community spaces can also become safe spaces for education, empowerment, and health promotion. Together, we continue to strengthen efforts toward a more informed, stigma-free, and HIV-aware community.
