Yesterday, the CFBC ADELPHOI gathered alongside the incredible youth of Gadgaran as we continued our study on The Provision: Understanding Christ.

We dove into Part 1 โ€œUnderstanding His Birthโ€ and uncovered three powerful truths about the coming of Jesus:

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." Isaiah 7:14

"The angel answered, 'The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.'" Luke 1:35

Realizing how unique His birth was helps us see the bigger picture: ๐™…

We wrapped up the session with a heartfelt time of prayer for one another and shared some great food and fellowship!

This Sunday, we were deeply blessed and challenged through Godโ€™s Word in Acts 2:1-13, shared by Ptr. Sebastian O. Chua Jr. The message was clear: The Holy Spirit ministers to us so that we can become ministers to others.

We aren't meant to be passive spectators in Godโ€™s kingdom, we are active participants! Here are the 3 key takeaways from todayโ€™s sermon to carry into your week:

The moment you put your trust in Christ, the Holy Spirit takes residence in your life. You donโ€™t need to perform or wait until you feel "holy enough" His presence is God's gift to every believer.

Ephesians 1:13โ€“14 "In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit..."

The power that raised Jesus from the dead lives inside you!

The Spirit doesn't come empty-handed, He bestows spiritual gifts, grace, and unique empowerment to each of us.

Ephesians 2:10 "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

You don't need a pulpit to have a ministry.

Ministry is not just the job of pastors and full-time church workers. God equips church leaders so that all saints can carry out the work of building up the Body of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11โ€“12 "And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry..."

The church functions at its best when every member steps into their God-given assignment.

Wednesday Sermon Recap | July 29, 2026 ๐Ÿ“–

Itโ€™s easy to say the right words. Itโ€™s easy to do religious routine. This midweek sermon was delivered to us by Bro. Peter Jade Tarrayo and we are greatly reminded on how to know if we are a โ€œTrue Followerโ€ of Christ. In Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus gives us one of the most eye opening warnings in Scripture:

โ€œNot everyone who says to me, โ€˜Lord, Lord,โ€™ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.โ€ Matthew 7:21

Here are 3 crucial truths every true follower of Christ needs to reflect on:

1. Action Over Words
Saying โ€œLord, Lordโ€ means nothing if our actions contradict our faith. True faith isn't proved by lip service it is proven by radical obedience to Godโ€™s will.

James 1:22 โ€œDo not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.โ€

2. Relationship Over Routine
In verse 22, people list their spiritual resumes: "Didn't we prophesy, cast out demons, and perform miracles in Your name?" Yet Jesus replies, "I never knew you."
You can perform religious activities and still miss God entirely. Religion focuses on tasks; true faith focuses on intimacy and continuous connection with the Father.

John 15:5โ€œI am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.โ€

3. The Warning: Self-Deception is Real
The most dangerous spiritual trap is assuming we are right with God just because we are involved in church work. A genuine disciple doesn't just rest on past experiences they have a heart that hungers to be taught, discipled, and changed daily.

2 Corinthians 13:5 โ€œExamine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.โ€

THE BOTTOM LINE:
At the end of the day, standing before God isn't about how loud we declare His name or how busy we keep ourselves. The true test of a genuine disciple is a heart that knows Him intimately and gladly does His Fatherโ€™s will.

Today, ask yourself: Am I relying on my words and active routine, or am I truly walking in a personal, obedient relationship with Jesus?

Recently, the CFBC Adelphoi youth transitioned from studying "The Penalty" to understanding "The Provision." To anchor our hearts in this transition, we gathered to watch The Passion of the Christ.

Looking at the death of our Savior was a profound reminder of the weight of human sin. Jesus suffered in every aspect of His person, taking the punishment we deserved. The innocent became sin, and through faith, the guilty were declared righteous.

โ€œFor the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.โ€ Romans 6:23

His sacrifice was complete, nothing added, nothing owed. Salvation cannot be bought with our riches or earned by our good works. It is by His blood alone that we enter God's family!

โ€œThere is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.โ€ Acts 4:12

We move forward into "The Provision" with overwhelming gratitude for our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Sunday Sermon Recap | July 26, 2026 ๐Ÿ“–

This Sunday we are blessed by Godโ€™s word through Ptr. Sebastian O. Chua Jr., where we studied Acts 2:1-4, โ€œWHEN THE UNSEEN BECOMES UNSTOPPABLE: LESSONS FROM PENTECOSTโ€

Ever felt like God was working behind the scenes, but you just couldn't see it yet?

In Acts 2:1โ€“4, the promised Holy Spirit descended upon the early believers in a powerful, unmistakable way. But if you look closer at how God revealed His Presence, there are two striking details we often miss:

1. The Sound of the Mighty Wind ๐Ÿ’จ
โ€œSuddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent windโ€ฆโ€ (Acts 2:2)
Wind is invisible, yet its power is undeniable. You canโ€™t grab a handful of wind, but you can feel its temperature and watch it bend trees. Before the Spirit showed up visually, He was heard and felt.

Jesus taught about this exact invisible power that leads:
"The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit." John 3:8.

Just because God is invisible doesn't mean He isn't moving. The Spirit works quietly in our hearts, driving us, guiding us, and transforming us from the inside out.

2. The Cloven Tongues of Fire
โ€œDivided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them.โ€ (Acts 2:3)
What began as an unseen internal force quickly turned into observable manifestations. The Holy Spirit didn't stay hidden, He empowered the believers to speak in new tongues and proclaim the Gospel boldly!

As Paul reminds us about spiritual gifts:
"To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good." 1 Corinthians 12:7

When God moves inside you, it eventually shows up on the outside in how you love, speak, forgive, and live out your purpose.

Key Takeaway
The Holy Spirit is both the unseen force that drives us and the visible power that changes us. Godโ€™s presence doesn't just comfort our souls in private; it equips us to shine His light in public.

Reflection for Today

Are you waiting to "see" God move before you trust Him? Remember that like the wind, He often works invisibly before His power produces visible fruit in your life.

How is the Spirit manifesting through you today? Is your faith visible in your kindness, your words, and your courage?

After service the church was able to have her monthly potluck service. Pastor Sebastian O. Chua Jr. led the prayer for the birthday celebrants and the church shared a hearty meal.

After lunch we proceeded sharing some time for prayer.

As we prepare our hearts for worship tomorrow, letโ€™s take a moment to reflect on the song โ€œBy Faithโ€ (by the Gettys), beautifully rendered by sisters Milcah Joy Lopez and Ylhin Mae Madrid.

Itโ€™s a powerful reminder that our journey through life isn't guided by what we see, but by faith. Not faith in ourselves or our own strength, but complete trust in Godโ€™s power to carry us through every season until the day He returns.

Weโ€™d love to worship with you tomorrow!

Your presence would be a great blessing. See you all tomorrow!

Wednesday Sermon Recap | July 15, 2026 ๐Ÿ“–

Have you ever wondered what truly changes a human heart? It isnโ€™t willpower, self-help, or good intentions. It is the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit. This midweek service Ptr. Sebastian O. Chua Jr. was used by God to remind us through His word concerning the โ€œPromise of the Fatherโ€. His sermon has 2 key points:

1. The Coming of the Spirit

- Prophesied in the Old Testament: God promised long ago that He would do something brand new writing His law on our hearts rather than stone.

โ€œI will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a new heart.โ€ Ezekiel 36:26

- Promised by Jesus: Before He ascended, Jesus assured His disciples that they would not be left alone. The Comforter and Advocate was coming.

โ€œAnd I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever the Spirit of truth.โ€ John 14:16โ€“17

Presence of God in Man: The Creator of the universe doesn't just dwell in temples built by hands anymore, He makes His home inside you.

โ€œDo you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?โ€ 1 Corinthians 6:19

2. The Power of the Spirit

When the Holy Spirit enters a life, transformation isn't subtle itโ€™s complete.

- Personality Change: The Spirit refines our character, replacing anger, fear, and selfishness with His supernatural fruit.

โ€œBut the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.โ€ Galatians 5:22โ€“23

- Profession/Witness Change: The Spirit shifts our boldest confession: Jesus becomes our living Lord, and our daily testimony reflects Him.

โ€œNo one can say, โ€˜Jesus is Lord,โ€™ except by the Holy Spirit.โ€ 1 Corinthians 12:3
โ€œBut you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses...โ€ Acts 1:8

- Purpose Change: We stop living for temporary earthly gain and start living for eternal, kingdom impact.

โ€œTherefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!โ€ 2 Corinthians 5:17

The Holy Spirit isn't an abstract concept or a distant force, He is God's active, personal presence living within us.

When life feels overwhelming or when changing our habits feels impossible, we don't have to rely on our own strength. The same Spirit that brought order to creation and raised Christ from the dead lives in us today to transform our character, align our words, and clarify our purpose.

Are you relying on your own strength today, or letting the Spirit guide your steps?

The CFBC Adelphoi, joined by the vibrant youth of Gadgaran Christian Fellowship, recently gathered to explore a profound truth: the mechanism and purpose of Godโ€™s Law.

Together, the youth dove into what the Law truly represents. It isn't just a set of rules; it is a mirror that shows us the perfect standard of God and reveals the depth of our own brokenness (Romans 3:20). Ultimately, the Law serves as a schoolmaster, pointing us directly to the only One who could ever perfectly fulfill itโ€”our Savior, Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:24).

For those still in unbelief, the Law stands as a heavy weight. But for those who are in Christ, it becomes a beautiful reflection of His remedy and righteousness. Jesus didn't abolish the Law; He fulfilled it so that we, empowered by Him, can now uphold it out of love, not legalism (Matthew 5:17).

To apply this, our youth closed the fellowship by sharing one specific command they will actively try to exercise and live out this week.

How about you? What command from Godโ€™s Word are you seeking to uphold in your life this week?

May God empower you through the Holy Spirit who dwells within us! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ”ฅ

โ€œDo we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.โ€ โ€” Romans 3:31

Sunday Sermon Recap | July 19, 2026 ๐Ÿ“–

This Sunday service we are blessed to hear from Godโ€™s word by His servant Ptr. Sebastian Chua Jr., shared to us Acts 1:1-7,we were given a question to ponder about, โ€œWhat Are We Really Asking God For?โ€

Just before Jesus ascended to heaven, His disciples asked Him a very telling question: "Lord, wilt thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel again?"
This single inquiry reveals so much about human nature and our spiritual journey. Looking closely at their question, we can see three things the disciples were focused on:

- An Earthly Kingdom: They desired the literal, physical restoration of Israel.

- A Specific Timeline: They wanted to know the exact time God was going to move.

- A Solitary Savior: They thought Jesus was going to do all the work alone while they watched.

But Jesus completely shifts their perspectiveโ€”and ours! Here is what this teaches us today:

โœจ Seeing Through the Spirit
There are things we cannot see with our physical eyes that are only revealed through the Holy Spirit. We must understand that everything we see comes from the unseen; it all comes from God. We are called to seek the things that are above, not just the temporary things on earth.

๐Ÿค A Divine Partnership
The disciples expected Jesus to restore the kingdom by Himself, but the restoration of God's kingdom is not a solitary workโ€”it is a partnership! We are God's fellow workers (Luke 8:22; John 15:27). God is still working today, but He is doing it to and through His people. As the Apostle Paul reminds us: it is not just us working in our own strength, but the Holy Spirit working through us.

๐Ÿ’ก Personal Reflection:
How often do we act exactly like the disciples? We approach God with our own agendas, asking Him to fix our earthly circumstances on our specific timeline, and we expect Him to do all the heavy lifting while we sit back and wait.

Acts 1 reminds us that God is calling us higher. He wants us to stop worrying about the "when" and start focusing on the "who." We are invited to be active participants in building His kingdom. When we let go of our earthly timelines and rely on the Holy Spirit, we step into our true purpose as His fellow workers.

Ask yourself today: Am I just waiting for God to fix things around me, or am I actively partnering with the Holy Spirit to bring His heavenly kingdom to earth?
