I walked through my college life with a dream in sight,
A blooming rose that shines so bright.
I held it close with hopeful hands,
Not knowing what kind of life demands.
The road grew rough, the nights grew long,
But in my heart, I stayed so strong.
For every dream I wished to choose,
I held more tightly to my rose.
Then thorns came that I couldnโt see,
Hard lessons are waiting for me silently.
Deadlines, failures, sleepless nights,
And days when nothing felt right.
Each thorn would hurt along the way,
Still, I faced another day.
Though every struggle left its mark,
My rose still bloomed within the dark.
There were moments when I wanted to fall,
When I felt I had given my all.
The thorns grew sharper in my hand,
While dreams felt harder to understand.
But letting go would hurt me more,
For this was what I came here for.
So even when my courage froze,
I kept on holding my bleeding rose.
Through every tear, I learned to grow,
More than my younger self could know.
The thorns were not the end of me,
But part of who I came to be.
Each painful step, each heavy test,
Taught me to rise and do my best.
And through the wounds that no one knows,
I saw the beauty of my rose.
Someday, Iโll reach the journeyโs end,
And see how every wound could amend.
Iโll hold the rose I fought to keep,
The dream I carried, strong and deep.
Its thorns will tell how far Iโve gone,
Through darkest nights to brighter dawn.
For dreams may hurt before they grow,
But they were worth the thorns of a bleeding rose
