𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒. The Department of Agrarian Reform and the Development Communication program of Northwest Samar State University held the Pelikula Agraryo Film Festival 2026 Orientation yesterday, April 23, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the CCJS rooftop building, NwSSU. The event aimed to share stories of Filipino farmers and teach youth about agrarian reform under the theme “Tinig ng Lupang Malaya: Kwento at Aral-Agraryo, Butil ng Pamana sa Kabataan." It was done through an opening prayer, welcome message, introducing DAR by Maxwell G. Melgar, Provincial Information Officer of DAR Samar, film showing, and discussion by the DAR on the Pelikula Agraryo Film Festival 2026 led by Jose Alsmith Soria, Regional Information Officer of Region VIII.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒. Promoting discipline and care for the surroundings, students from the College of Criminal Justice Sciences (CCJS) joined forces for a Clean-Up Drive across the university campus on April 16, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:30 PM.

The activity involved 1st-year students focusing on the CCJS Building, ensuring classrooms, hallways, and the rooftop were clean. Meanwhile, 2nd and 3rd-year students from various programs including BS Criminology, BS DevCom, BSLEA, BSISM, BSCD, and BSES were assigned to different buildings and common areas around the university.

By using their own cleaning tools like brushes and sacks, the students successfully cleared waste and dirt, proving that unity and responsibility, working together to maintain a cleaner and healthier learning space for everyone.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 | Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 114 issued by the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines, directing all government agencies to adopt energy conservation measures, Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) shall implement a Four (4)-Day, Ten (10)-Hour Onsite Work Arrangement effective 09 March 2026, until lifted or modified by the appropriate authorities.

University office hours shall be from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 N.N. and 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., from Monday to Thursday, while Fridays shall be observed as a common non-onsite work day.

Clients, stakeholders, and members of the public are advised to conduct their transactions with the University from Monday to Thursday within the prescribed office hours to ensure the continued delivery of frontline services.

Offices providing essential services, including but not limited to the University Health Center, General Services and Infrastructure Project Management Office, and Security Services, shall observe a skeletal work arrangement on Fridays, subject to approval of the appropriate authorities.

Flexible learning modalities shall be implemented for classes scheduled after 5:00 P.M. and on Fridays, and class schedule adjustments shall be announced by the respective colleges.

𝗜𝗡 𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗘 | 𝗔𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 — 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲!

DevCom Week comes to an end with a special night celebration packed with awards, music, and entertainment. The winners from Laro ng Lahi and DevCom Basketball League were given prizes and prestigious awards for their outstanding achievements and participation.

We also express our deepest gratitude to the NwSSU Banda Musikero for giving us a night of stupendous music performances. Same thanks goes to our DevCom Band - The Kebrals for their support and dedication to the DevCom program.

This event would not have been possible without the shared support and commitment of the students, faculty, and officers. The effort and dedication of everyone made the DevCom Week 2026 a momentous and enjoyable celebration.

𝗗𝗘𝗩𝗖𝗢𝗠 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗞𝗘𝗧𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 | On February 26, the DevCom Basketball Tournament was held where students from different year-levels come face-to-face, igniting their fiery passion for strategy and teamwork.

In the final match with only seconds remaining on the clock, Team Catalysts For Change secured the winning-game point against Team Burikat, sparking cheers and applause from their supporters. The final match confirmed an astounding one-point triumph.
