As another school year begins, the Rotary Club Of Calbayog proudly answered the call of Brigada Eskwela 2026 with the theme, “Maki-alam, Maki-isa, Mag-Brigada Ka Na!”
On July 18, 2026, led by our Impact Building President, Rtn. Nilo F. Chan, Rotarians and volunteers gathered at Capoocan Elementary School, our beneficiary school, to help prepare the campus for the opening of classes.
United by Rotary’s spirit of Service Above Self, the team repainted old school structures, carried out repairs and maintenance of the school comfort room, handwashing facility, and classrooms, and donated paints, plastic trash bins, and cleaning materials. These collective efforts were made with one shared purpose—to provide learners with a cleaner, safer, healthier, and more welcoming environment where they can learn, grow, and succeed.
Brigada Eskwela is more than an annual activity. It is a celebration of bayanihan (community volunteerism), where individuals, organizations, and the community come together to invest in the future of our children through volunteerism and shared responsibility. Every brushstroke, every repair, and every act of generosity reminds us that when a community works together, meaningful change becomes possible.
This service project is a testament to the Rotary Club of Calbayog’s continuing commitment to supporting public education, strengthening community partnerships, and creating positive change through meaningful service. Guided by Rotary’s 2026–2027 theme, “Create Lasting Impact,” we strive to ensure that every act of service leaves a meaningful and enduring difference in the lives of the communities we serve.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the School Head Mr. Danilo Mirales, teachers, parents, and the entire Capoocan Elementary School community for their warm welcome, invaluable assistance, and wholehearted cooperation. Thank you for allowing us to be your partners in creating a learning environment where every child can thrive.
Together, we are not just preparing classrooms—we are investing in the future of our children, strengthening our community, and creating lasting impact, one act of service at a time.
Service Above Self. Create Lasting Impact.
