To all Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Officials, Local Youth Development Officers (LYDOs), Members of the Local Youth Development Councils (LYDCs), Youth-led and Youth-Serving Organizations, the National Youth Commission (NYC), guided by the Philippine Youth Development Plan (PYDP), endeavors to enable every Filipino youth to take a more active and meaningful role in nation-building and in the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In line with this objective, the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan 2024, which encompasses International Youth Day, ASEAN Youth Day, and National Youth Day, will be observed during the week of August 12th, as mandated by Republic Act No. 10742, the "Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015."
International Youth Day (IYD) 2024 will focus on the theme "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development." This theme underscores the pivotal role of digitalization in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and highlights the significant contributions of young people in this transformative process.
In connection with this, all SK Officials, LYDOs, and members of the LYDCs, as well as Youth-led and Youth-serving organizations, are hereby enjoined to actively participate in this global and nationwide celebration. The objectives are to raise awareness about youth and digital innovation in advancing the SDGs, promote active youth engagement in digital initiatives and sustainable development, and celebrate the achievements of young people in driving digital transformation.
