AUGUST 12, 2026 | CIVIC PARADE & FRESHMEN TOUR DUTY

As Northwest Samar State University Main Campus first-year students gathered for the Civic Parade outside campus and the Institutional Orientation and Freshmen Tour inside the campus grounds, the Quick Response Team stood on active duty to ensure safety and provide immediate emergency response when needed.

The personnel were divided into four teams, from team Blue Spider, Phantom Cheetah, Emerald Green, and Red Fox, each is assigned to cover different key areas within the campus, making it easier to monitor and respond to any situation.

Preparedness isn't just a duty, it's our promise. From accompanying the Civic Parade to guiding and safeguarding first-year students during their tour, we remained alert and ready to respond swiftly, protect lives, and keep every activity run smoothly and securely.

Our duty is accomplished, but our commitment remains steadfast, we train to serve, and we stand ready to protect our campus community always.

AUGUST 8, 2026 | BATCH BLUE PINNING CEREMONY

The 6th Commissioning Rites and Pinning Ceremonies of the Quick Response Team unfolded today at Jollen's Beachside, marking a beautiful and meaningful milestone as probationary members officially stepped forward to become full-fledged members of our organization.

Today, a total of 8 deserving probationaries were formally pinned, signifying their successful completion of training and their official acceptance into the QRT family. This sacred rite was made even more significant with the presence and guidance of our Organization Adviser, Mr. Eugene C. Calumba, alongside 32 personnels including the officers who came to witness and proudly welcome the new batch.

The pinning is more than just a ceremony, it is a symbol of commitment, readiness, and the promise to serve with heart, courage, and integrity. Every pin placed stands for the skills they have honed, the discipline they have built, and the willingness to lend a hand in times of need.

To our newest official members, congratulations and welcome to the team! ๐Ÿ’™

RETRAINING DAY

Preparedness never takes a day off as today, the QRT Personnel gathered for a comprehensive retraining session designed to sharpen skills and reinforce standard procedures essential to our mission.

The morning session opened with critical lessons in radiocommunication protocols and safe, proper techniques for the transport of the injured. Training continued seamlessly into Basic First Aid (BFA) and Basic Life Support (BLS), covering essential procedures for emergency care. To ensure mastery and confidence, the day concluded with a comprehensive return demonstration, where every participant applied and showcased their understanding of all topics discussed.

Every lesson learned and skill practiced today strengthens our ability to respond with speed, competence, and confidence whenever duty calls. We train relentlessly so we can serve effectively.

PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST & TRAINING DAY

Starting as early as 5:30 AM at the NwSSU Oval, our Probationary members together with active QRT personnel took part in the Physical Fitness Testโ€”testing the endurance, strength, and discipline needed for every rescue we respond to.

Training continued right after with sessions on taking vital signs and proper radiocommunication held near the QRT Headquarters, where everyone learned and practiced these essential skills. By 1:00 PM, training resumed with proper procedures for the Transport of the Injured. While this session is part of the Probationary training program, active personnel also joined to refresh their knowledge, sharpen their techniques, and stay ready for duty.

Every part of todayโ€™s activity reminds us that we train hard and prepare thoroughly so we can respond quickly and effectively whenever duty calls.

DAY 2 | 11TH ANNUAL QRT FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY

The Quick Response Team continue its celebration of the 11th Founding Anniversary at NwSSU Main Campus for Day 2.

The day started with arrival and registration, followed by a quick run-through of the dayโ€™s activities. The four tribes then took on a series of team-building and communication challenges, the Blindfolded Human Knot Challenge, Jumble Words Challenge, Phonetic Communication Challenge, and Search the Match Challenge.

After the activities, everyone shared their comments by posting notes on our message wall. We then gathered at the CCIS 2nd Floor Multimedia Room for an insightful discussion on leadership and service.

After dinner, we gathered at the University Oval for the highlight of the night, which is the Turnover Ceremony of Officers for SY 2026โ€“2027, followed by an inspiring message from our QRT Adviser Mr. Eugene C. Calumba.

All participants from Batch Khaki, Green, Red, Blue joined together with facilitators, outgoing and incoming officers, and our Adviser to mark this meaningful transition, strengthening our bond and renewing our commitment to serve as one team.

We close our anniversary celebrations with hearts full of gratitude, unity, and purpose. Onwards to another year of service, readiness, and excellence.

DAY 1 | 11TH ANNUAL QRT FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY

The Quick Response Team marks a major milestone today as we kick off Day 1 of our 11th Founding Anniversary at NwSSU Main Campus.

The day began with the arrival of all participants, followed by the University Flag Ceremony attended by QRT participants.

After the ceremony, everyone proceeded to the CCIS 2nd Floor Multimedia Room for our opening program, and began with the registration. The event featured a special anniversary short film presented by Ma'am Jamaica Tepase, the official introduction of our Red, Green, Orange, and Blue Tribes led by Sir Jeric Bacsal, and a vital safety precautions briefing by Sir Arjay Castro. The program was guided by our Ladies of Ceremony Ma'am Ma. Sofia T. Titoy and Ma'am Kristine M. Perico, and concluded with an inspiring official declaration and closing remarks from QRT Adviser Mr. Eugene C. Calumba.

Spirits stayed high as we moved to our core competitions, where the tribes battled it out in Bandaging Competition, Skill O Rama, Search and Rescue Challenge, and Obstacle Course Race, which held near at QRT Office and University Oval.

Taking part in all activities were participants from Batch Khaki, Batch Green, Batch Red, and Batch Blue, alongside our facilitators, QRT Adviser, current Commander, and former Commander -all present to guide, support, and cheer on every participant.

We wrap up Day 1 with a debriefing to review our progress, learn from our experiences, and prepare for the days ahead.
