𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗙𝗦𝗦 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗦𝗙 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻-𝗨𝗽 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲

Students from the Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSF), together with the Forestry Student Society (FSS), took part in a clean-up drive held Friday afternoon, October 2, 2026, as part of their efforts to promote cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and a better learning environment within the university.

The activity was organized through the joint efforts of the Agri-Tech Enthusiast Organization (ATEO), Students Organization for Sustainable Agriculture (SOSA), and Forestry Student Society (FSS), bringing together students who shared the same goal of keeping the campus agricultural and forestry learning spaces clean and organized.

Through simple acts of picking up waste, cleaning the surroundings, and working together, the students showed that maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility. The activity also gave students an opportunity to work together beyond the classroom while putting into practice the values of environmental stewardship.

The clean-up drive ended with a sense of teamwork and accomplishment, as students contributed their time and effort toward a cleaner and more welcoming campus. The participation of FSS and BSF students reflects their commitment to caring for the environment and supporting activities that benefit the university community.

𝑰𝑪𝒀𝑴𝑰 | From fun games and lively performances to booth-making, food selling, and good times, the Forestry Student Society (FSS) joined the Rayhak Fest: Acquaintance Party 2026 on September 25 under the theme “Coastal Chill Vibe.”

Our Forestry students worked together to setup and decorate our booth, where we proudly sold a variety of delicious food and treats. Beyond the booth and activities, the day was full of laughter, teamwork, and great moments shared among fellow students.

FSS First Regular Meeting | September 18, 2026

The Forestry Student Society (FSS) successfully conducted its First Regular Meeting on September 18, 2026, at the Forestry Building, with the participation of the FSS Officers and BSF Classroom Presidents.

The meeting focused on important organizational matters, where officers and representatives shared their ideas, concerns, and suggestions. The active participation of everyone contributed to a productive and meaningful discussion that helped address matters concerning the organization.

We also extend our appreciation to For. Joshua D. Guldo, FSS Adviser, for attending and supporting the meeting.

Together, we continue to strengthen the Forestry Student Society through service, coordination, and unity.

The Bachelor of Science in Forestry students gathered on August 20, 2026, General Assembly of the Forestry Student Society for School Year 2026–2027.

The gathering served as an opportunity to officially welcome our first-year students into the organization and bring together the Forestry student community for another meaningful school year.

The assembly highlights the election of the new set of officers who will lead and represent the Forestry Student Society throughout the school year.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | BSF 1 and 2 students captivated the crowd with their vibrant festival performances today, May 6, 2026, during the "Festival of Festivals" Pathfit culminating activity held at the NwSSU-SJC Covered Court.

The BSF 2 students brought the rhythmic energy of the Lubi-Lubi Festival to life, while the BSF 1 students delivered a stunning performance of the Kadayawan Festival. Both groups showcased a spectacular display of colors, rich culture, and deep-rooted traditions, leaving the audience in awe.

Your BSF family congratulates you all on this immense success and for a job exceptionally well done. Your hard work and passion truly shone on the stage. Congratulations and Padayon!

Two Bachelor of Science in Forestry students from Northwest Samar State University – San Jorge Campus brought pride to their institution after being selected as oral presenters at the Joint International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICETI-4) and the International Conference for Interdisciplinary Science and Environmental Solutions (JCI Davao Ecotone-2), held on April 29, 2026, at the University of Mindanao – Matina Campus in Davao City.

Ms. Marinel B. Cadocoy and Ms. Kimberly B. Mag-aso showcased their undergraduate research during the conference’s thematic sessions, joining scholars and researchers from various institutions across the country and abroad.

Ms. Cadocoy presented their study titled “People’s Awareness of Mangrove Ecosystem Services in Barangay Bangon, Pagsanghan, Samar,” while Ms. Mag-aso presented their thesis entitled “Growth, Survival, and Heavy Metal Accumulation of Vetiver Grass (Chrysopogon zizanioides) Inoculated with Microbial Inoculants Grown in Heavy Metal-Contaminated Soil" during the thematic sessions of the conference.

Their participation as oral presenters signifies not only their academic excellence but also the growing contribution of undergraduate research to addressing real-world environmental challenges.

The achievements of Ms. Cadocoy and Ms. Mag-aso together with their whole groupmates reflect Northwest Samar State University – San Jorge Campus's commitment to research-driven education and to helping students engage in meaningful scientific discourse on national and international stages.

This accomplishment reinforces NwSSU’s dedication to producing competent, environmentally responsive, and globally competitive forestry professionals.

The Forestry Student Society recently engaged in an online discussion with the Upstep Review Center, a premier institution dedicated to empowering the next generation of professionals through high-quality, innovative, and comprehensive board examination review programs.

Successfully held today, April 6, 2026, the meeting served as a platform to explore a potential partnership for the implementation of the Review Caravan 2026. This initiative is designed to provide robust academic support and review opportunities for students, graduating seniors, and recent alumni preparing for the Forester Licensure Examination (FLE) and other professional certifications.

As a proven producer of board top-notchers, Upstep Review Center presented a compelling opportunity by offering free online review sessions and demonstrating a standard of service that sets a high bar for academic excellence.

Beyond forestry, the center provides specialized programs for the Agriculturists (ALE), Food Technology (FTLE), Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABELE), and Chemist (CLE) licensure examinations, as well as the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT).

While a formal agreement has yet to be finalized, this collaboration represents a significant step forward in supporting students and enhancing the passing rates for participating institutions.
