𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟖 | 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐨, 𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡

Today, the Church remembers Saint Augustine of Hippo (354–430), one of the greatest theologians and teachers in Church history, known as the “Doctor of Grace.”

Raised by his faithful mother, Saint Monica, Augustine spent many years searching for truth and wandering away from the Catholic faith. Through the prayers of his mother, the guidance of Saint Ambrose, and his encounter with the Word of God, Augustine experienced a profound conversion.

Baptized in 387, he later became a priest and Bishop of Hippo, dedicating his life to preaching, teaching, defending the faith, and serving God’s people. His writings, especially Confessions and The City of God, continue to inspire Christians today.

Saint Augustine reminds us that God’s grace can reach even the most wandering heart. No matter how far we may have gone, God continues to call us back to Him.

On August 21, the Memorial of Saint Pius X, the MHCC Laguna community gathered at the Two Hearts Center of Spirituality, Brgy. Imok, Laguna, for their monthly formation.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our speaker, Br. Raphael Ma., OATH, for generously sharing his knowledge, faith, and insights, helping deepen the spirituality and formation of our MHCC members.

May this gathering continue to inspire all participants to grow in faith, discipleship, and service to God.

Saint John Eudes was a French priest known for his deep devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He dedicated his life to preaching God’s mercy, serving the poor and those in need, forming priests, and leading souls closer to Christ.

He founded the Eudists and promoted devotion to the Sacred Hearts, emphasizing the infinite love and mercy of Jesus and the loving heart of His Mother.

𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟓 | 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲

The Solemnity of the Assumption celebrates the truth that the Blessed Virgin Mary was taken body and soul into the glory of Heaven at the end of her earthly life. In 1950, Pope Pius XII solemnly defined the Assumption as a dogma of the Catholic faith.

Mary’s Assumption is a unique participation in the victory of her Son, Jesus Christ, over sin and death. Her glorification gives us hope that, through Christ, we too are called to share in eternal life.
