The Rotary Club of Calauag successfully carried out its meaningful 2-in-1 project with the theme “Ligtas at Malusog na Pamilya: Women’s Rights, Nutrition, and Child Dental Health,” the activity highlighted the importance of empowering women, promoting proper nutrition, and ensuring children’s oral health as foundations of a peaceful and healthy community last February 12, 2026, at Sumilang Elementary School.
As part of our commitment to children’s health, the club conducted a Dental Check-Up and Oral Health Care Activity for the Kinder and Grade 1 pupils of Sumilang Elementary School, benefiting a total of 106 young learners. Each child also received a dental kit to help them maintain proper oral hygiene at home.
This initiative was made possible through the support of Past President Doc John Lim and Rotarian Spouse of Past President Paterno Baloloy, Dra. Pinky Baloloy, whose dedication to community health truly made a difference in the smiles of our young beneficiaries.
In line with our focus on Maternal Health and Women Empowerment, the Rotary Club also conducted a seminar for mothers in the community. Our speaker, Secretary of the Club and President-Elect Atty. Salvador “Kooking” Jubilo, delivered an insightful discussion on Women’s Rights, with emphasis on the important topic: Violence Against Women (VAW). The seminar aimed to educate, empower, and promote awareness on protecting women’s rights and fostering peaceful families and communities.
Following the seminar, under the leadership of President Nonie Mercado, together with fellow Rotarians, the club distributed multivitamins to 30 mothers to support their health and overall well-being.
This 2-in-1 project reflects Rotary’s unwavering commitment to building healthier families and promoting peace through education, empowerment, and service above self.
