El Niño Alert issued ⚠️

DOST-PAGASA has officially raised its ENSO Alert and Warning System to El Niño Alert, following the high likelihood of its development in the coming months and possible persistence into early 2027. This may bring drier-than-usual conditions, including dry spells and droughts in parts of the country.

However, above-normal rainfall may still be experienced over the western sections during the Habagat season.

DOST-PAGASA raises its ENSO Alert and Warning System to El Niño Watch. 🌤️

Conditions are still ENSO-neutral, but the probability of El Niño is increasing in the coming months. Potential impacts include reduced rainfall and drier-than-usual conditions in parts of the country. However, above-normal rainfall conditions during the Southwest Monsoon Season (Habagat) may also be experienced over the western part of the country.

A successful Geographic Information System (GIS) Training was recently conducted, equipping participants with essential knowledge and skills in mapping, data analysis, and spatial planning.

This activity aims to strengthen data-driven decision-making and improve the delivery of public services in our community. Participants gained valuable insights on how GIS technology can be utilized in planning, disaster risk reduction, and resource management.

We extend our appreciation to all facilitators and participants for their active involvement and commitment to learning. This initiative marks another step forward toward innovation and efficient governance.
