An Open Letter to the Leaders of the Philippines
To the honorable leaders, public servants, and those entrusted with influence in our beloved nation,
Grace and peace to you.
Our nation does not suffer from a shortage of intelligent minds, talented administrators, or influential people. Every election brings forth new faces. Every generation produces gifted leaders. Yet the deepest need of the Philippines is not simply more leaders it is more leaders who bow their hearts before God.
Power without humility becomes oppression. Wealth without compassion becomes indifference. Wisdom without reverence becomes pride.
The greatest leaders in Scripture were not remembered because they possessed the largest armies or the greatest treasures, but because they recognized that authority belongs ultimately to God. They understood that leadership is stewardship, not ownership; service, not self-exaltation.
The Philippines needs men and women who fear God more than they fear losing power. Leaders who are quick to listen, slow to speak, and willing to admit when they are wrong. Leaders whose knees bend before the Lord before their voices rise before the people.
Scripture reminds us, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" (Psalm 33:12), and "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6). These are not merely religious sayings; they are enduring principles for every generation.
To those whom God has entrusted with wealth and influence, remember that every position is temporary, every title fades, and every earthly kingdom passes away. But every act of justice, mercy, and faithfulness is remembered by the One who judges without partiality.
My prayer is not simply that our nation would produce more politicians, more executives, or more powerful personalities. My prayer is that God would raise up leaders whose first allegiance is to Him, whose hearts are shaped by humility, and whose decisions are guided by righteousness.
May you lead with courage, govern with justice, serve with compassion, and walk humbly with your God.
May the Lord bless the Philippines with leaders who seek His wisdom above personal ambition and His glory above their own.
