Our heartfelt appreciation to Pauline Mae Rodel for choosing to celebrate her birthday by sharing her blessings with the animals of SECASPI. Instead of traditional gifts, she sent dog food, cat food, cleaning aids, and a beautiful message that truly touched our hearts. 🐶🐱❤️

Once you have submitted the application, please send SECASPI a Facebook message.

“Hello SECASPI! I have completed and submitted the adoption application. I would like to proceed with the adoption process. Thank you!”
3️⃣ CONNECT WITH OUR ADMIN
A SECASPI Admin will send you a Facebook Friend Request. Please accept it so we can communicate with you throughout the process.
4️⃣ ONLINE INTERVIEW
An online interview will be conducted to get to know you and your plans for your future pet.
5️⃣ HOME VISIT & SCREENING
A home visit may be conducted to help ensure a safe and suitable environment for the rescue.
🏡 BEFORE VISITING SECASPI
Once your application is approved and before scheduling your shelter visit, please make sure your home is already prepared with:
🐾 Food bowl
🐾 Water bowl
🐾 Collar, harness & leash for dogs
🐾 Appropriate, good-quality dog or cat kibble that is not excessively salty
🐾 Pet shampoo
🐾 Cat litter/sand & scooper for cats
Being prepared means your new companion can settle into their new home comfortably from day one. ❤️
🐶🐱 WHAT WE ASK FROM OUR ADOPTERS
We want our rescued animals to become part of the family — not simply guard dogs or pets left alone most of the time.
We ask adopters to:
❤️ Provide a loving home where the pet can be part of everyday family life
❤️ Allow the pet to live freely — no permanent or prolonged caging
❤️ Have a stable source of income and be financially prepared for proper pet care
❤️ Keep vaccinations updated yearly
❤️ Provide veterinary care whenever needed
❤️ Feed appropriate, nutritious pet food rather than food scraps
❤️ Have an active Facebook account and accept one SECASPI Admin as a Facebook friend
❤️ Provide a valid government-issued ID
❤️ Be an adult capable of taking full responsibility for the pet; students are not eligible to adopt
❤️ Have no immediate plans to migrate abroad
❤️ Be willing to accommodate a home visit
❤️ If moving to a new address, bring the adopted pet with you
❤️ ONCE APPROVED
1️⃣ Schedule your SECASPI shelter visit.
2️⃣ Meet our available rescues.
3️⃣ Spend time with them and choose the pet that feels right for you and your family.
Our team will share the pet’s background, personality, health information, and special needs, if any.
🏡 BEFORE YOUR PET GOES HOME
✔️ Complete and sign the adoption documents
✔️ Submit your valid government-issued ID
✔️ Confirm your current address and contact details
✔️ Ensure your home and supplies are ready
✔️ Be prepared for continued vaccinations and veterinary care
✔️ Bring safe and proper transportation
✔️ Complete SECASPI’s final clearance
Once everything is complete, your new family member can finally go home with you! 🐾❤️

AFTER 8 EXHAUSTING HOURS… WE FINALLY GOT HER. 😭🐶❤️

One failed rescue attempt. Eight long hours of trying. Emotions were high, frustration was real, and everyone was exhausted.

But we refused to give up.

Today, the SM Marilao dog is finally contained and on her way to safety. 🙏

She will travel from Marilao, Bulacan all the way South to Parañaque, where Lance Bonza will foster her for the night.

Tomorrow morning, she continues her journey to SECASPI in Calamba. 🐾

It’s a long journey for one dog — but after everything she has been through, she deserves every kilometer.

Huge thanks to Fernando and Mac-Garcia for staying persistent and refusing to walk away when the first attempt failed.

📢 NOTICE TO ALL VISITORS & SUPPORTERS

Please be advised that SECASPI will be temporarily closed to all visitors from September 13 to September 20, 2026.

🐾 Reason for Closure:
Three of our caretakers will be taking leave on alternating schedules for personal matters. During this period, our remaining staff will be fully focused on essential daily animal care, feeding, cleaning, and shelter upkeep.

📅 VISITS RESUME:
September 21, 2026

We sincerely ask everyone to please respect this temporary closure so our team can properly manage the shelter and ensure that all our rescued animals continue to receive the care they need.

🐾 A HELPING HAND WHEN WE NEEDED IT MOST ❤️

SECASPI is grateful to Doc Geraldine Mayor and Pawlanthropy Inc. for generously covering our caretakers’ one-week salary from August 31 to September 6, 2026.

Her donation came at a crucial time. Because of her support, we were able to cover a full week of our caretakers’ wages, allowing our limited resources to remain available for the daily needs of our rescued animals.

For a shelter like SECASPI, where every peso has to stretch across food, medicine, utilities, and other essential needs, having our caretakers’ salary covered for that week was a significant relief.

Thank you for helping SECASPI keep going and giving our rescued animals the second chance they deserve. 🙏🏻🐾

We’re grateful to the OB Montessori Center – Greenhills students who chose SECASPI for their academic activity and interview about animal rescue and shelter work. 💙

Special thanks to Calum and Iñigo, who, together with their guardians, braved the rain and arrived at the shelter today.

We also want to acknowledge their groupmates Keira, Adana, and Lovely, who were unable to join the visit but also contributed to the group’s generous cash donation to SECASPI. 🙏💙

Your donation will directly help provide food, medicine, and daily care for our rescued dogs and cats. Every contribution, big or small, helps us continue rescuing, caring for, and giving these animals a second chance.

A sincere thank you to Johanna Villanueva, Isylv Chidrome, Aina Nicole Intong, Paul Silas Intong, Jhustine Red Perez, Elisha Marzan, Joy Arlene Abadilla, Catherine Rubio, Jordan Rubio, Eli Rubio, and Jordine Rubio for spending your Sunday with our rescued animals at SECASPI. ❤️

Thank you for bringing dog food, cat food, and much-needed cleaning supplies, as well as cooked sawdust with vegetables that you lovingly prepared and fed to our rescued dogs. Every effort to help our animals means so much to us. 🐶🐱

We also appreciate Eli and Jordine for joining the visit and learning the importance of kindness and compassion toward rescued animals at such a young age. 🥰

A little reminder from our SECASPI family: our cats need love and attention too. 🐱💔 They were once again unintentionally overlooked during the visit, and they are beginning to suspect that the dogs have hired a very effective public relations team. Meanwhile, our feline residents sat nearby practicing their most dramatic “I have never been fed or loved in my entire life” faces. 😿

We hope that on your next visit, our cats will get some extra love, treats, and time as well. They are waiting too—probably while judging everyone silently from a corner, as cats do. ❤️🐾
