Art that Gives Back: Humanista Pantry Brings Hope to the Streets 🎨✨

Yesterday, June 4, marked the successful first day of the “Humanista Pantry” initiative in front of NU Laguna — a community-driven effort led by the HUMSS and ASSH Council to extend support to local jeepney drivers amid rising fuel prices.

With warm smiles and heartfelt waves, students distributed essential goods such as rice, canned goods, and instant noodles to drivers passing by the area. These donations were made possible through the “Art for a Cause” system, where artworks created by HUMSS students were exchanged for donated goods — transforming creativity into compassion and service.

Every brushstroke became a symbol of care. Every donation became a gesture of solidarity. Every wave became a reminder that kindness moves communities forward.

As the initiative continues, the HUMSS and ASSH Councils remain committed to creating meaningful change and uplifting communities through collective action, empathy, and generosity. 💙💛

“Sa munting tulong na aming ibinigay, pag-asa at ngiti ang aming natunghayan.” - 11SHS2506 ✨

Sa pamamagitan ng aming community program, nagkaroon kami ng pagkakataong magbahagi ng relief goods para sa ating mga PWD at senior citizens. Higit pa sa simpleng pamimigay, ito ay naging simbolo ng pagmamahal, malasakit, at pagkakaisa para sa mga taong patuloy na nagbibigay inspirasyon sa ating komunidad.

Nakakataba ng puso ang makita ang kanilang masasayang ngiti at marinig ang taos-pusong pasasalamat. Sa simpleng gawa ng kabutihan, napagtanto namin na kahit maliit na tulong ay maaaring magdala ng malaking epekto at pag-asa sa buhay ng iba. 💖

Ang proyektong ito ay nagsilbing paalala na bilang kabataan, may kakayahan kaming maging daan ng pagbabago at liwanag para sa ating komunidad. Sama-sama nating ipagpatuloy ang pagtulong, pagdamay, at pagbibigay ng pag-asa sa bawat isa. ✨

“Aba! Nakakabilang na pala ako?!”

🤸 11SHS2508 successfully conducted its three-day Numeracy Skills Enhancement Program on May 18–20 at Barangay Turbina, Calamba City, Laguna. The program aimed to strengthen the numeracy skills of children from grades 1-3 by teaching them the basic foundations of mathematics, including counting, solving, and performing basic mathematical operations. 📐

Through this initiative, we sought to help bridge the ongoing gaps in numeracy skills among children, as we firmly believe that education serves as the foundation of life. To make learning more enjoyable and engaging, we prepared various activities, games, and prizes for the participants. 🎖️

We then concluded the project with a simple recognition ceremony where certificates of completion and school supplies were distributed to each child. 📚✏️

This initiative was conducted under our core subject, Pag-aaral ng Kasaysayan at Lipunang Pilipino. Through teamwork, diligence, and proper guidance, we were able to successfully carry out this meaningful project.

Moreover, this initiative supports:
📖Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education 🌟Sustainable Development Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, as it promotes accessible learning opportunities and encourages equal educational support for children in the community.

🎨🌿: Art-Vocate – The Environmental Mural Project (11SHS2503)

In these days, 11SHS2503 continued transforming a simple wall into a meaningful mural that promotes environmental awareness and unity within the community of Barangay Milagrosa. 🌏✨

From May 4–6, the team officially started painting the mural and bringing the concept to life. The first layers of paint, sketches, and outlines were carefully made by the creative committee, slowly turning the plain wall into a colorful masterpiece. During these days, the boys also worked together to build chairs and prepare additional materials that would help the team during the implementation. Their efforts showed teamwork, cooperation, and dedication in making the project successful.

On May 14–15, more details and colors were added to the mural. The artwork slowly became more vibrant and meaningful as every member contributed their skills, creativity, and effort. Each brushstroke carried a message of environmental awareness, hope, and positive change for the community.

From May 18–20, the team focused on finalizing the mural by adding finishing touches and improving small details. The project became a symbol of teamwork, hard work, and unity among the students. On May 20, a turnover event was also held to officially present the mural to the community of Barangay Milagrosa.
This mural project also supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by promoting a cleaner, more aware, and more united community through public art. In addition, it aligns with SDG 13: Climate Action by encouraging people to care for the environment and raise awareness about the importance of protecting our planet for future generations. 🌱🌍

This project is more than just painting a wall, it is a reflection of youth empowerment, creativity, and advocacy for the environment. Through this mural, we hope to inspire others to protect nature and take part in building a cleaner and greener community. 🎨💚

02gether, All together!

🍃🧹 2Gather for a Cleaner Turbina — Organized by the spirited students of 11SHS2502 from National UniversityLaguna for the Pag-aaral ng Kasaysayan at Lipunang Pilipino. We proudly completed a one-day clean-up drive in Purok 3, Barangay Turbina, Calamba!

Our unstoppable Section 02 was on a mission to make the community feel safer and cleaner. Together, we collected 16bags of trash, each bag symbolizing our class’s teamwork and dedication to creating a brighter, cleaner future for Turbina!
We did it—02gether, we made a difference!

⚠️ Because small actions lead to big changes. This project showed us that collective effort is the heart and soul of our society.

Just like how collective movements were a huge part of shaping today’s democratic system, we believe that teamwork and unity are the driving forces behindreal change.

Our clean-up drive in Turbina wasn’t just about picking up trash; it was a hands-on lesson in how collective effort rooted in the values of social responsibility and empathy can transform our world. 🌍

This project also contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) with our SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

From the arts that inspire us, to the social sciences that guide us, to the humanities that connect us, the Grade 11 students are ready to lead with heart, creativity, and purpose. Because change doesn’t happen alone — it happens 02gether! 💛💙
