On April 15, The Whiskers Project returned to Barangay Milagrosa, Calamba City for our 7th Stray Feeding Program in partnership with Vetra & Veravit. 🧡🩵🐾

Milagrosa has become one of the places we continuously come back to because of the number of strays living within the area. Even after several visits, the situation remains difficult for many of them. Some stay near small stores, some quietly wait outside homes, while others roam the streets already familiar with surviving off little to nothing each day.

While moving around the community, we also met residents who still choose to care despite the environment around them. People who leave food outside, check on the animals when they can, and continue showing compassion even when support for stray welfare feels limited.

With the help of our volunteers and the support from Vetra & Veravit, we continued feeding the strays around the area and spending time within the community that has slowly become familiar to us too.

Returning to places like this always leaves something behind. The faces become recognizable. The animals start approaching with less fear. And somehow, each visit becomes a reminder that consistency matters more than grand gestures ever will. 🐱🐶

🐾 WHISKERmustahan: Volunteer Get-Together & Stray Feeding Program 🐾

Last April 3, 2026, The Whiskers Project held WHISKERmustahan — a volunteer get-together and stray feeding program that brought together advocates connected by one common cause: animal welfare. 💛

Held at The Plaza in Calamba City, the activity became a space not only for feeding strays within the area, but also for volunteers to reconnect, share stories, and strengthen the community we continue to build through our advocacy.

Beyond the feeding program itself, WHISKERmustahan served as a reminder that caring for animals also means creating a support system among the people behind the movement. Through simple conversations, shared experiences, and collective efforts, we continue to grow as a community dedicated to becoming the voice for the voiceless. 🐶🐱

This activity was made possible with the support of Vetra & Veravit, whose sponsorship helped us continue our feeding initiatives for stray animals.

Here’s to more meaningful moments, stronger connections, and continued compassion for our strays. 🐾

🏠 ADOPT A SHELTER PET DAY 🐾

Last April 30 marked Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, a vital reminder that thousands of animals are still waiting in shelters for a safe and loving forever home. While the official date has passed, the mission at The Whiskers Project remains constant because adoption is a life-saving choice that gives abandoned animals the second chance they truly deserve. Choosing to adopt instead of buy doesn't just change one animal's life—it helps reduce shelter overcrowding and allows more rescued animals to receive proper care and attention.

Before you decide to become a hero to a shelter pet, it is important to reflect on the long-term responsibility involved. Welcoming a new furry family member means ensuring your lifestyle and home environment are ready for their specific needs, from basic food and shelter to regular veterinary care. It also requires a great deal of patience, as adopted pets often need time and a calm space to unlearn their past fears and fully adjust to a new life. By choosing adoption, you are making a decision that transforms a life and inspires others in the community to prioritize animal welfare every single day.

Today is Free Feral Cat Spay Day—a reminder of the quiet but important work that happens behind the scenes for community cats. 🧡🩵🐾

This day focuses on helping feral cats get spayed and receive basic health care—small interventions that create lasting impact. Because for cats living on the streets, these efforts mean fewer risks, safer lives, and a future that isn’t defined by constant survival.

It’s not always the most visible kind of care, but it’s one of the most meaningful. Supporting initiatives like this helps protect not just one life, but generations to come.

And in the same way we show love through feeding and rescue, we also show it through responsible action—choosing solutions that truly make a difference for them. 🐱

Today is National Pet Parents Day—a day that celebrates the kind of love that shows up every single day, in both big and quiet ways. 🧡🩵🐾

Being a pet parent goes beyond affection. It’s in the responsibility, the patience, and the choice to care, even on the days when it’s not easy. It’s building a life where they feel safe, understood, and loved in ways they may not be able to say, but always show.

And while we celebrate those who are lucky enough to have a home, may this also be a gentle reminder of the many animals still waiting for that kind of love. The kind that chooses them, stays for them, and grows with them.

Because at the end of the day, being a pet parent is about becoming someone a life can depend on. 🐾

Today marks National Lost Dog Awareness Day—a reminder that behind every missing dog is a family hoping to be reunited. 🐾

This day highlights an important truth: not all strays are homeless. Some are simply lost, once part of a home, now navigating unfamiliar streets, waiting to find their way back.

It also calls us to be more proactive as pet owners and advocates. Simple steps like microchipping, proper identification tags, and secure environments can make all the difference in preventing pets from getting lost and in helping them return home safely.

And while we raise awareness, we also hold space for hope—the kind that comes with every reunion, every found poster taken down, every dog brought back where they belong.

Because sometimes, the stray we see isn’t meant to stay on the streets—they’re just waiting to be found. 🐶🧡🩵

Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month reminds us that care is not optional—it is a responsibility.

Behind every stray, every abandoned pet, and every silent suffering life is a story we may never fully hear… but one we can choose to change.

Awareness is not enough if it ends in scrolling.
It becomes meaningful when it leads to action—when we choose to protect, to report, to care.

Through small acts, consistent efforts, and a community that refuses to look away, we create spaces where animals are no longer forgotten, but valued.

Let this month be more than a reminder.
Let it be a commitment.

Let us be the voice for the voiceless—
and the hands that choose to help. 🐾🧡🩵

🐈‍⬛💖 Happy Cat Lady Day! 💖🐈‍⬛

To all our whiskered best friends’ favorite humans—today, we celebrate you.

Being a “cat lady” isn’t just a label. It’s choosing a life filled with soft purrs, gentle head nudges, and yes… a little bit of fur on every outfit. 😌

It’s waking up to tiny meows, checking if they’ve eaten, making sure they’re safe, and learning to understand a kind of love that doesn’t always need words.

It’s the patience to earn their trust, the softness to care for them, and the strength to keep showing up—even for those who were once unwanted or left behind.

It’s a kind of love that’s quiet, patient, and deeply unconditional. The kind that shows up every day in feeding, caring, rescuing, and simply being there.

Whether you’re caring for one cat, a whole colony, or even strays in your community—you are making a difference, one paw at a time. 🐾

Here’s to the hearts that choose compassion, and to the humans our cats are lucky to have. 💛

🚨 URGENT RESCUE APPEAL: CALAUAN, LAGUNA 🚨

We received a distressing report regarding several neglected dogs and cats near the Calauan Town Plaza. These animals are in critical condition, severely underweight and in need of immediate intervention.

The Whiskers Project is looking for URGENT FOSTER HOMES, RESCUERS, or a SHELTER that can take them in. 🐾

To facilitate an immediate rescue, The Whiskers Project is committed to covering the initial food and basic supplies for whoever can take them in. We are looking for partners who can provide the space and medical care, while we assist with the support for their supplies.

📍 Current Location: Calauan, Laguna (Near Town Plaza)
📍 Target Destination: Calamba City, Laguna

We are urgently knocking on the hearts of established shelters and experienced rescuers in the Laguna area. Please help us give these animals a chance at survival.

On April 7, 2026 (Tuesday), The Whiskers Project took part in the “Adopt a Shelter” initiative— a SECASPI Shelter Outreach organized by the Calamba Water District Employees’ Multi-purpose Cooperative. 🐾

We were given the chance to visit Second Chance Aspin Shelter Philippines Incorporated, a shelter in Calamba that has long been close to our advocacy and one of the recipients of our past donation drives. Walking through the space, we were met with wagging tails, gentle eyes, and quiet resilience. Many of these animals carry stories of abandonment and hardship, yet seeing them safe, cared for, and surrounded by compassion was something truly moving.

Moments like this remind us that healing is possible when there are people willing to step in and care. Shelters like SECASPI create that space—where animals are not defined by their past, but given the opportunity to begin again.

We also shared our support through donations, including Vetra and Veravit, as a small contribution to their continuous efforts in providing proper care for their rescues.

May this serve as a reminder that supporting shelters whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness, can help give these animals the second chance they deserve. 🐾🩵🧡
