As this wonderful and meaningful journey comes to an end, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who became part of this community service. First, to Bahay ni Maria, thank you so much for warmly welcoming us and for allowing us to conduct our community service in your home. Your kindness and openness made it possible for us to learn, serve, and grow.

To our dear lolas, thank you for accepting us with open arms and for treating us like your own apo. Maraming salamat po!!! for trusting us, sharing your stories, and allowing us to be part of your daily lives, even for a short time. The laughter, conversations, and simple moments we shared with you are memories we will carry in our hearts. Serving you was not just a task for us; it was a meaningful experience that we truly enjoyed and will never forget.

We would like to express our appreciation to Cong. Ramil Hernandez and Hon. Aries Hizon for your generous support and sponsorship of this project. Your assistance helped make this initiative possible and successful, and we are deeply grateful for your contribution. We also extend our thanks for the wonderful performance of Indak Filipiniana, which added color and life to our program.

And lastly, to 2PSY5, thank you for your dedication, patience, and cooperation as apos. Your time, effort, and willingness to give your best made this entire journey even more special. This experience has taught us not only the value of service but also the importance of compassion, connection, and community. Thank you for being part of this journey๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ’›

On April 18, 2026, we continued our 2nd and final session at Bahay ni Maria in Brgy. Sampiruhan, with the goal of giving our lolas a meaningful and memorable day of their lives . Returning to the place felt both heartwarming and emotional as they welcomed us again with open arms. What made this visit even more special is that our connection became stronger ; it is not just about fulfilling our community service but about building real bonds with them as their real apos. The whole session was filled with warmth and gratitude, knowing that this would be our final session together.

The morning session began with greetings and an opening prayer , followed by a quick kumustahan. Seeing the lolas again brought us a sense of comfort, as they also showed their care and appreciation for us. After that, we distributed new name tags to each lola and had short conversations with their assigned apos that allowed us to connect with them more. One of the highlights of the session was the performance of ๐ˆ๐ง๐๐š๐ค ๐…๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐š๐ง๐š, which brought fun and joy to the lolas. The performers also shared that they chose this dance because it represents a traditional form of courtship, and they hoped to capture the attention and win the hearts of the lolas. Afterward, we gave plaques as our token of appreciation to the performers to express our gratitude for their participation in our community project and for sharing their talent and joy with the lolas. The session continued with a fun bingo game, where the lolas, together with their apos, joined in with full participation, filling the activity with laughter, excitement, and shared joy.

In the afternoon session, we conducted a bracelet-making activity paired with letter writing, giving us the opportunity to express our appreciation, love, and gratitude in a more personal and creative way. Each bracelet and letter became a symbol of the bond we had formed with the lolas. As we handed these over along with our gifts, the moment became emotional, especially knowing it was our last time together. Smiles were shared along with heartfelt goodbyes, making the experience both joyful and bittersweet. The words "balik kayo ah" stayed with us; it is simple yet powerful, reflecting how much our presence meant to them. As our journey comes to an end, we carry with us the memories and connections we built.

We would like to thank ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ . โ€ŽSharing with y'all this kind of experience that we shared in the short period of time with the most unforgettable and engaging activities with the lola's of bahay ni Maria. This kind of event made us realize that everyone has the capacity to build a connection with each other even if we have some differences in life โ€” abilities and age difference doesn't matter to connect with everyone in this lifetime. Through this project, we, the students, aimed to connect, share, and give everybody the most unforgettable memories that they will treasure in this lifetime.

Last Saturday (April 11, 2026) at Bahay ni Maria in brgy. Sampiruhan, we, the students of City College of Calamba taking Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Section 2-PSY 5, were given an opportunity to spend a meaningful morning and afternoon with our amazing and beautiful lolas. The day was filled with laughter, connection, and heartfelt moments as we engaged in various activities specifically prepared for them.

We started with greetings, asking how they were, praying, and introducing ourselves, for them to know who are going to be their "apos" (student volunteers). Followed by distribution of the name tags of the lolas, assigning apos for each one of them using fishbowl method, and dancing for them to entertain them. After all of that, we shared different stories about each other, such as our likes, dislikes, and happy experiences. We also had singing session with our lolas and activity entitled "Bitin na Kanta". Then continued sharing stories with each other. When the lunch time came, we helped our lolas with their lunch meal while still bonding, laughing, and sharing genuine stories.

After an hour of rest, we continued our program again with Paper Crafts Making. And as requested by one of our lovely lolas, we played Pinoy Henyo with the players being the apos and the lolas. It was then followed by displaying their art works on the bulletin board to appreciate their works.

At the near end of our program, we continued engaging with our beloved lolas and took pictures with them with hearts full of gratitude. Their smiles and stories truly made the day unforgettable. And to end the program, we distributed healthy, nutritious, and tasty foods as a small token of our love and appreciation. Seeing their smiles and hearing their stories made every effort worth it.
