The Philippine Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners Society (POPPS) proudly recognizes Ms. Caezia Faye Oñate Tatud, RPh, Head of Oncology Pharmacy at We Hope Medical Group, as the Top 1 Performer of Oncology Rx Training Batch 3.

Day 3 marked the successful culmination of Oncology Rx Training Batch 3, where 29 practicing pharmacists demonstrated the knowledge and skills they developed over three intensive days of training in cancer pharmacotherapy and aseptic oncology compounding.

This competency-based program was designed to strengthen competencies in oncology pharmacy practice and sterile compounding. Participants showcased their proficiency in pharmaceutical calculations, hazardous drug handling, aseptic technique, and sterile oncology compounding—reflecting their commitment to excellence and patient safety.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our valued academic partner, the University of Makati, for graciously hosting this training and for its steadfast support in advancing pharmacy education and professional development. Special thanks to Prof. Elyxzur C. Ramos, PhD, CESE; Prof. Maria Fay Nenette Cariaga, RPh, PhDEM; and Asst. Prof. Justine Marie L. Arenas-Ocampo, RPh, MS Pharm, PhD.

The Oncology Rx Training Batch 3 officially began with an exclusive Hospital Tour at the Oncology Compounding Unit of Ospital ng Makati, providing participants with a valuable opportunity to observe oncology sterile compounding practices in an actual hospital setting.

This immersive pre-training activity allowed the participating pharmacists to gain firsthand insight into the workflow, equipment, and safety protocols involved in the preparation of hazardous drugs and antineoplastic agents.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ospital ng Makati for warmly welcoming our participants and for supporting this experiential learning opportunity. Special thanks to:

Day 2 of Oncology Rx Batch 3 strengthened participants’ knowledge and practical skills in oncology pharmacy practice and sterile compounding.

This dynamic learning experience brought together 29 practicing pharmacists and 23 pharmacy students from the University of Makati, fostering meaningful collaboration between professionals and future pharmacists in advancing oncology pharmacy education.

The day featured a combination of lectures and hands-on activities led by our esteemed lecturers and facilitators:

Key sessions covered:

- Pharmaceutical Calculations Used in Sterile and Oncology Compounding

Through these sessions, participants strengthened their competence in performing accurate calculations, understanding oncology pharmacy workflows, and applying safe and precise compounding techniques.
