Our heartfelt thanks to Gingoog City Tourism and Mayor Erick G. Cañosa for the warm hospitality and gracious hosting extended to the Cagayan de Oro Travel and Tours Association (COTTA).

Our visit was filled with memorable experiences—from exploring Iluminada Garden Resort and enjoying tsokolate at Mountain Guru, to conducting ocular visits at the city’s dairy, oolong tea, and agricultural destinations like HydroLeaf. We were also treated to a wonderful Higaonon cultural performance by the Kaliga winners during lunch.

We visited Sta. Rita de Cascia Parish Church and the City Museum, strolled along the iconic Gingoog Bay marker, enjoyed refreshing lemonade from Angel’s Lemon, and capped off the day with a delightful dinner at Badiangon Waterpark.

Daghang salamat, Gingoog City! We look forward to sharing your beautiful destinations, rich culture, and warm hospitality with more travelers.

Tourism stakeholders from across Northern Mindanao came together for an open dialogue on the current realities, challenges, and future of the region’s tourism industry. From aviation trends and infrastructure concerns to hotel operations, tour packaging, inbound travel, and market resilience, one thing became clear: collaboration is no longer optional — it is necessary.

Despite global challenges and shifting travel behavior, Northern Mindanao continues to show strength through its diverse tourism segments and the collective efforts of both the public and private sectors.

The discussion highlighted the importance of creating a unified tourism roadmap for the region, strengthening partnerships, improving communication between sectors, and ensuring that growth is supported by sustainable policies and infrastructure.

This is only the beginning. More conversations like this must continue to move Northern Mindanao tourism forward. ✈️🌴
