CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - August 15, 2026. Amid the rising heat index and growing environmental challenges faced by Cagayan de Oro City, young leaders are stepping forward- not just to speak about change, but to be the change.

The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) CDO Chapter conducted a Tree Growing Activity at Zone 9, Bulua, bringing together environmental-friendly youth, organizations, and volunteers united by one purpose: to protect and restore the environment, one tree at a time.

With every seedling planted, the participants took a step toward addressing environmental challenges while encouraging other young people to become more environmentally responsible. The activity emphasized that meaningful change can begin with simple actions when communities work together toward a shared purpose.

The organization also recognized the individual volunteers who willingly offered their time and effort to make the activity possible.

The PYAP CDO- Kauswagan Chapter also extends its sincere gratitude to SK Kauswagan for providing transportation for Kauswagan youth leaders and volunteers, headed by Hon. Rance Daba Achacoso, with the support of SK Kagawad Dhar Obsioma and SK Secretary Gab Cahoy.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - August 11, 2026. Three young minds turned waste into a winning vision as the Powerpuff Girlโ€™s Junkshop team emerged as champion during Kita KITA: Negosyo Launchpad for Young People held at Xavier University- Macasandig Campus.

The event was offered under UNICEFโ€™s Learning to Earning Pathways Programme in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry- Misamis Oriental, providing young people with a platform to transform their ideas into viable business opportunities.

Among the winning team were two representatives from PYAP Kauswagan, who joined forces with their third teammate to present the Powerpuff Girlโ€™s Junkshop- an innovative business concept built around recycling, sustainability, and turning waste into opportunity.

Their winning vision was captured in a powerful tagline:

The tagline reflects the heart of their business: transforming discarded materials into valuable resources while creating livelihood opportunities and contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable community.

Through creativity, teamwork, and a compelling business proposal, the trio sailed past the competition and impressed the panel, ultimately claiming the championship title.

Their victory goes beyond winning a competition. It demonstrates how young people can turn environmental challenges into entrepreneurial opportunities- and how a simple idea can create a meaningful impact.
