As we close the chapter of our freshman year in law school, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude. Law school is not an easy path, BUT, itโs a journey of perseverance, sleepless nights, tears, and relentless faith. But through it all, we pushed forward. We are PALABAN, a fighters, dreamers, believers. And above all, we are hopeful that this calling to serve through the law is not just for ourselves, but for the greater good.
To mark this humble milestone, we decided to give back not in grandeur, but in sincerity. We visited Balay Canossa, a charity, rehabilitation center and a non-government social welfare institution that caters to neglected and abandoned children for temporary residential care for ages 6 to 17 years old, where we brought with us bags of groceries, rice, and small gifts for the children. It may not have been much, but it came from hearts full of thanks.
We chose Balay Canossa not by accident, but by calling. In that quiet moment of discernment, we felt the nudge, the whisper of God urging us to go where kindness is needed most. And in the smiles of the children and the warmth of the community, we knew we were exactly where we were meant to be.
This is just the beginning.
This mission is not about how much you can give. Itโs about choosing to give, no matter the size. It's about presence, compassion, and solidarity. Whether itโs one kilo of rice, a bar of soap, or a kind word, it matters. It always matters.
As Mother Teresa beautifully said, โIf you canโt feed a hundred people, then feed just one.โ
And so, we did.
To our fellow dreamers, students, professionals, and every kind soul reading this: may this be your sign. Your kindness is needed. Your compassion can change a life. Let this be a gentle reminder that you donโt need abundance to be a blessing, you only need heart.
Join us in continuing this mission. This thanksgiving has a purpose and itโs only the beginning.
