"Lahi man ang atong plano , apan mas nindot gihapon ang gihimo sa Ginoo." 🌧️

We were so excited for our Canvas and Carry activity yesterday, but the heavy downpour changed everything. We prayed for the rain to stop, but when it didn't, we simply surrendered and trusted God’s ways and timing. Honest truth? We really didn’t expect more youths to still show up.

Yet, God surprised us! From just a few early birds sitting around the table, youth after youth kept walking through the door.

We traded art supplies for something far richer, a warm kamustahan, real testimonies, prayer and a powerful message from Isaiah 40:28–31 shared by their ate Noreen. It was a beautiful reminder that when we wait on the Lord, He renews our strength so we can keep going( rain or shine).

Huge gratitude to all the supportive parents for allowing their kids to be here and sincere apologies if they got home late as we waited for the heavy rain to stop. Praying that these young hearts grow deeper and deeper in love with God every single day! 🤍🙌

Investing in their faith and their future! 🙌

The youth wrapped up Week 3 of their Study Circle sessions with Ate Ellah taking them through their English lesson. Having a safe space right after church to prep for major exams and scholarships is a huge blessing. 📚

Turns out, the biggest battle was never against the world around us, it was the "me" inside us all along. 🫣

Yesterday’s TJL Youth Service hit us with a much-needed reality check! Beyond the fun, laughs, and awesome fellowship, we tackled "Personal Enemy #1" and realized how easily Self, our pride, self-will, and desire for control, tries to sneak onto the throne of our hearts.

But here’s the best part: we don't have to carry that fight on our own. Jesus already won the battle over our old self! True freedom and joy happen when we step down, Know, Count, Realize, and Give, choosing daily surrender so God stays in Chair #1.

"My parents are bugging me." 🗣️

Last Friday’s youth service hit close to home. We talked about the real frustrations we face in our families and how tough things can get. While some family problems are genuinely difficult, we were challenged to look inward too, because there are times when SELF is actually the one sitting on the throne of our hearts, making us easily offended, proud, or quick to rebel.

The challenge for us as Christians is to CHECK OUR HEARTS, choose humility, and let Christ take the lead when our own pride gets in the way.

On another note, look at these genuine smiles. It is just so wonderful to see our youth enjoying the fellowship, and sharing pure joy with one another. Glory to God! 🙌

The Order Matters: Facts ➡️ Faith ➡️ Feelings

It’s so easy to let our emotions drive the car. We feel downcast, so we question if God is near. We don't "feel" saved, so we begin to doubt. But at last Friday's Youth Service, we were reminded of a powerful, foundational truth: Most people try to put feelings first, but that’s like trying to build the roof of a house before laying the foundation.

Feelings are beautiful, but they are fickle and changeable. They do not change the ultimate reality of what God has done.

Our lives must be built in the right order:

-God's Facts: The unchanging, unshakeable truth of His Word.

-Faith: Placing our trust completely in those facts, because the value of our faith depends entirely on its object.

-Feelings: The joy and peace that naturally follow when we stop living life with a "think-so" or "hope-so" mentality.

We are justified by faith, not by a thrilling experience or a passing emotion. Let's stop letting our feelings dictate our truth, and start letting God's facts anchor our faith.

We don't buy a car with a powerful engine just to spend the rest of our days pushing it ourselves. Yet, that's exactly what we do when we try to live life on our own strength.

Becoming a Christian isn't a matter of joining a church or just trying to behave a certain way, it is about receiving JESUS. The ultimate truth of the Gospel is that Jesus is the Vine, and we are the branches. The same life-giving sap that flows through Him flows directly through us. He doesn't just offer us a religion; He offers us a living union. Jesus is our complete righteousness before God in Heaven, and He is our entire power to live a godly life here on earth.

'I am the vine, you are the branches...' -(John 15:5)’
