Young Centrists Union - Cagayan de Oro This is the official page of Young Centrists Union - Cagayan de Oro Chapter.

The Young Centrists Union (formerly Centrist Democratic Youth Association of the Philippines) is a centrist democratic youth group whose focus is to integrate positive and dynamic activism in Philippine Politics. In order to advance the tenets of Centrist Democracy, anchored on the principles of subsidiarity, solidarity, social justice, sustainable, equitable and inclusive economic development and

participatory democracy, the group aims to establish a new order in today’s political activism by exploring artistic avenues to advance its collective political interest. CORE VALUES

HESPIYA- Human Dignity, Empowerment, Socio-Political Responsibility, Integrity as the Youth’s Advocacy

HUMAN DIGNITY

The Human Being must be the centerpiece of any strategy for development, and not vice versa. Uphold the dignity and sanctity of the human being, from the caring of his/her body to the nurturing of his spirituality, through:
Freedom of choice, with individual responsibility
Freedom to pursue his/her course for development, with social responsibility
Actively engage families in the formation of the human being’s inter-dimensional needs, in terms of:
The family as repository of virtues and values
The family as provider for one’s basic needs
The family as first line educators of growing individuals
Respect the diversity of individuals, cultures, ethnicities and religions in the country

EMPOWERMENT

A socio-economic order based on wealth creation and equitable distribution of resources, opportunities and control of the nation’s wealth shall be pursued
Pursue policies, projects and programs that devolve the national resources to the smallest towns, cities and provinces of the country
Establish an economic system that capacitates individuals to attain their personal ambitions and goals, through capacity building programs, projects and policies

SOCIO-POLITICAL MATURITY

Democratization of power shall be pursued to encourage and allow the participation in governance of civil society in projects, programs and policies to be undertaken by the government
Ensure that a credible system of election is established through electoral and political reforms, and a sustainable level of engagement is reached among political actors, particularly political parties
Genuine and inclusive citizen empowerment shall be pursued, with the use of modern technology, where the citizen is made to be a stakeholder and participant in the pursuit of development, by providing equal access to opportunities, with an equal share in responsibilities. INTEGRITY

Promote honesty, transparency and accountability as the minimum standard for holding public office
Institutionalize measures that will act as a deterrent to prevent public officers, particularly the youth at various political offices from committing graft and corruption
Implement a “carrot and stick” approach in rewarding good and bad behavior in governance.

𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗯𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗜 𝗖𝗔𝗡

Your mindset is more than just your thoughts. It is the driving force behind your actions, your decisions, and ultimately, your future. What you choose to believe today shapes what you become tomorrow.

Believe in your potential. Even when things feel uncertain, even when progress seems slow, remind yourself that growth is still happening. Every small step forward matters. Every effort counts.

Don’t let doubt take the lead. It may whisper that you’re not enough, that your goals are too far, or that your voice doesn’t matter. But doubt is not truth, it is only fear in disguise. And fear loses its power the moment you decide to move forward anyway.

So this week, flip the narrative.

Choose belief over fear.
Choose action over hesitation.
Choose growth over comfort.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. And trust that each step is bringing you closer to something greater.

Remember, your potential is not limited by your circumstances, but by your willingness to believe in yourself and keep going.

Because YOU CAN.
WE CAN.
I CAN.

Make this week count. ✨🧡

Monday Motivation: Fuel Your Week with Passion!

Whether you're leading a small group, spearheading a project, or chasing your personal goals, let that inner fire guide you, not the chair you're sitting in.

Leadership is not about authority. It's about impact, consistency, and the courage to show up even when it's hard. The most powerful leaders are those who serve with purpose, lead with heart, and stay grounded in why they started.

This week, choose to act with intention. Show up with discipline. And let your passion speak louder than any title ever could.

What's one passion fueling your vision this Monday?
Drop it below and let's motivate each other! 💥👏

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐮𝐩, 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥?

A new month means new opportunities. Today, we stand firm against folly because it's a new day, new goals to chase, new chats to spark, and fresh chances to lead with smarts and hearts.

As we step into April, let's carry forward the lessons we’ve learned and the strength we've gained. May this month shine with smart moves, tighter teamwork, and lighter weight.

𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙨. 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙨. 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙯𝙤𝙣.

Let's make April fun and memorable.

Leadership is not micromanagement; it is clarity of direction paired with trust in people. When we communicate the goal clearly and empower others to take ownership, we create space for creativity, initiative, and growth.

Great leaders understand that capability expands when trust is given. Teams become stronger when members are allowed to think, decide, and deliver. Guidance matters, but so does confidence in the people around us.

This week, lead with clarity. Delegate with trust. And allow others the room to rise beyond expectations. What opportunity can you give someone to shine today?

Problems will always be present. Challenges will always surface. But leadership is revealed in where we choose to place our focus. Do we stay stuck analyzing what is wrong, or do we step forward and build what is right?

Solution-driven leaders ask better questions. They seek clarity, not confusion. They collaborate, not compete. They take responsibility for moving conversations from complaint to commitment, from hesitation to action.

In every meeting, every project, every community concern, we have a choice. We can add to the noise, or we can become the voice that redirects energy toward progress. True leadership is not about ignoring problems, but about rising above them and creating pathways forward.

This week, let us be known not for pointing out problems, but for proposing solutions. Let us lead with intention, act with purpose, and inspire others to do the same.

What solution are you bringing to the table today?

𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄.

As 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗵 reminds us, “𝘽𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧, 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛. 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙖 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧, 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨.” Real leadership is not measured by position or recognition. It is seen in how we mentor, encourage, and open doors for others to succeed.

This week, let us challenge ourselves not only to improve our own skills and character, but also to uplift the people around us. A simple word of encouragement, a shared opportunity, or sincere guidance can make a lasting difference in someone’s journey.

Grow yourself. Grow others. That is leadership in action.

Have a purposeful and inspiring week ahead. 🧡
