𝓡𝓸𝓸𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓯𝓸𝓻 𝓪 𝓰𝓻𝓮𝓮𝓷𝓮𝓻 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓶𝓸𝓻𝓮 𝓻𝓮𝓼𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓬𝓸𝓪𝓼𝓽.

In observance of 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 on July 26, the BioAmorist Society, in partnership with the City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO), conducted "𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭" at Zone 1, Punta, Bonbon, Cagayan de Oro City. The initiative brought together BS Biology students, BioAmorist Society members, and faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Natural Sciences Department, led by Dean Dr. Salvador Dela Peña III and CAS, Community Extension Coordinator Dr. Glaisy Velez, in support of coastal rehabilitation.

The activity began with an orientation by Mr. Galle Glen Panulaya of CLENRO, who discussed proper mangrove planting techniques and the role of mangroves in protecting coastal ecosystems. Participants then successfully planted 𝟒𝟎 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬, contributing to the restoration of the area's shoreline.

The program concluded with the presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation by the BioAmorist Society, through organization adviser Ms. Eva Gladys Badar, to Mr. Panulaya in recognition of CLENRO's partnership and support. The initiative highlighted the importance of collaboration between the academe and government in advancing environmental stewardship and community-based conservation.

𝐁𝐈𝐎 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | BS Biology students Edzer Mikko Manus and Lovely Mae Gran of the Natural Science Department showcased their confidence, skills, and dedication during the Mr. and Ms. College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Screening for the upcoming Liceo U Games 2026 Pageantry held on July 29, 2026, at AVR 1, Liceo de Cagayan University.

Manus secured a spot among the top three finalists in the male category, delivering a remarkable performance during the preliminary round of the competition. During the question-and-answer portion, he emphasized the significance of adaptability, highlighting that the ability to adjust to one’s environment allows individuals to grow, overcome challenges, and thrive in changing circumstances.

The screening panel, which included Mr. Aljun Jay Alcantara, the reigning CAS Icon 2026, assessed the candidates based on their overall performance, stage presence, confidence, and communication skills. Meanwhile, Gran completed the preliminary round with grace and confidence, representing the Biology community with dedication and pride.

The BioAmorist Society and the Biology community expressed their continued support for both representatives, recognizing their commitment and efforts in carrying the name of the Natural Science Department throughout the competition. Their participation reflects the department’s passion for excellence, leadership, and active engagement in university-wide endeavors.

𝐎𝐑𝐆 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 | A touch of pixie dust filled AVR 3 as the BioAmorist Society welcomed BS Biology students to the new academic year through its General Assembly 2026: "Fairies and Phyla." The event officially began with welcome remarks from Dr. Glaisy Velez, followed by an inspirational message from Mr. Frank Alvin Baguio, the oath-taking of the newly elected BioAmorist Society officers, and the President's Address delivered by Mr. Francis R. Espares.

Students were introduced to the organization's grading system, calendar of activities, and organizational fee. The celebration continued with intermission performances, fun parlor games, and the Best Fairy of the Year Showdown, fostering camaraderie and highlighting the creativity and talents of the Biology community. The program concluded with congratulatory remarks from Ms. Pamela Prima.

As another chapter begins, the BioAmorist Society remains committed to building a community where curiosity thrives, diversity is celebrated, and every Biology student is empowered to grow and make a meaningful impact, just as every fairy and every phylum plays a unique role in sustaining the beauty and balance of life.

𝐁𝐈𝐎 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | BS Biology students, together with the faculty of the Natural Sciences Department, participated in CASalubong 2026, the annual general assembly of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), held at the Liceo Civic Center of Liceo de Cagayan University on July 14, 2026. The event brought together students, faculty, and staff from the college's five academic departments to officially open the new academic year.

Organized by the College of Arts and Sciences Student Body Organization (CASSBO) under the leadership of President Leexa Julianne Bautista, the assembly featured the introduction of departmental faculty, staff, and recognized sub-organizations. The current administration also presented the college's upcoming activities and addressed concerns regarding the CAS fee for the current semester.

BS Biology students actively participated in the event's recreational activities, claiming the Chinese garter championship alongside BA Political Science. They also joined the Caterpillar Game, demonstrating teamwork and active participation throughout the program.

The assembly concluded with a community dance, where BS Biology students joined the rest of the CAS community in celebrating unity and school spirit.
