The courts came alive with powerful smashes, thrilling rallies, friendly competition, and an even greater purpose as the Rotaract Club of Carmen Valley, in partnership with JCI Bai Lawanen, successfully staged POWERSMASH 2026: Badminton Tournament for a Cause on July 18, 2026. Now in its third year, PowerSmash once again proved that the love for sports can become a powerful avenue for service—bringing players, partners, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters together for one meaningful cause.
Beyond the medals, trophies, and victories on the court, every serve and every smash contributed to something bigger. This year's tournament was organized for the benefit of student-athletes from the Municipality of Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, with support intended to help provide much-needed training materials and contribute to the improvement of their badminton court. What began as a sporting event became a collective effort to give young athletes better opportunities to train, grow, compete, and pursue their dreams.
The success of PowerSmash 2026 would not have been possible without the overwhelming support of our players, sponsors, partners, tournament officials, volunteers, committee members, and friends of Rotaract who shared their time, resources, and energy. To everyone who registered, competed, cheered, sponsored, served, and believed in the purpose behind this tournament—this victory belongs to all of you. Every contribution, big or small, became part of something that will reach far beyond the badminton court.
To all our champions and winners, congratulations! But perhaps the greatest win of PowerSmash 2026 is seeing a community come together not only to compete, but to serve. As the final shuttlecock touched the court, our mission did not end—it only moved closer to the people for whom this tournament was created.
PowerSmash 2026 was more than badminton. It was passion with purpose, competition with compassion, and sports transformed into service. Together, we smashed boundaries, rallied behind a cause, and proved once again that when people come together with a heart to serve, we can truly Create Lasting Impact—one smash at a time.
