Gugma sa Kabataan, Inc. Goal: Preventing children from choosing the street to be their home or place of livelihood. Objectives:
(1) Providing life shaping skills to be self-reliant.

An empowering place for children to enjoy their rights to survival, development, protection and participation towards a transforming community of HOPE, FAITH and LOVE. (2) Re-establishing contacts with families and, if not feasible, to make referrals with other organizations for custody. (3) Facilitating to integrate to formal and informal education for a teaching-learning experiences to enhance th cognitive, affective and psychomotor abilities. (4) Teaching to appreciate the values or respect, trust, self-esteem, care and compassion to families, communities and to the whole creation. (5) Demonstrating the importance of patience and perseverance in the achievement of one's goal. (6) Raising the consciousness of families and communities to address issues, problems, and prevention of street children.

Xavier Science Foundation in partnership with Gugma Sa Kabataan, Inc. successfully launched β€œSwipe Safe: Building a Safer Future Online” at ASNHS - Angeles Sisters National High School, bringing together PopDevClub officers/members, SSLG Officers, PopDevClub Moderator/SSLG Adviser, and the children and youth of Gugma Sa Kabataan, Inc. in promoting a safer and more responsible digital environment for children and youth.

The activity focused on helping young people become informed, responsible, and empowered digital citizens. Through meaningful discussions and interactive learning, participants explored online safety, responsible digital communication, privacy, online risks, and the importance of thinking carefully before clicking, posting, sharing, or responding online.

Today’s resource speakers were Sheila De Lima, Program Manager of Xavier Science Foundation, and Jonah Domingo, Executive Director of Gugma Sa Kabataan, Inc., who shared valuable insights and practical reminders on navigating the online world safely and responsibly.

Swipe Safe reminds us that children have the right to be protected wherever they areβ€”including in the digital world. Building a safer online environment requires everyone to work together: children and youth, parents, teachers, schools, communities, and organizations.

Warm greetings of peace and hope!

It is with great joy and gratitude that we present the Second Quarter 2026 issue of Voices of Hope, the official newsletter of Gugma sa Kabataan, Inc. This edition celebrates the many milestones, partnerships, and inspiring stories that continue to shape our mission of protecting, nurturing, and empowering children and youth.

Over the past three months, we have witnessed how collaboration and compassion can transform lives. From leadership camps and educational achievements to community outreach programs, mental health initiatives, faith formation activities, and the generosity of our donors and partners, every story in this newsletter reflects the power of working together for the welfare of children.

We proudly celebrate the academic accomplishments of our graduates and completers, recognize the dedication of volunteers, interns, schools, and organizations that journeyed with us, and express our heartfelt appreciation to the many individuals and institutions whose generosity continues to make our programs possible. Your support has enabled us to provide nutritious meals, educational assistance, psychosocial interventions, leadership development opportunities, and safe spaces where children can grow, learn, and thrive.

As you read through these pages, we hope you will see not only the activities we have accomplished but also the lives that have been touched. Every smile, every success story, and every dream realized reminds us that investing in children today is an investment in a brighter, more compassionate tomorrow.

Welcome, Social Work Field Practitioners!

Gugma sa Kabataan, Inc. warmly welcomes the newest Social Work field practitioners from Lourdes College and the City College of El Salvador as they begin their field instruction and community immersion with the organization.

Representing Lourdes College are Jean Paul, Alanisah, Jessamarie, and Mary Margarette, while Vincent, Cindy, Eden Mae, Loey, and Queeny May join us from the City College of El Salvador.

As future social workers, these field practitioners will have the opportunity to translate classroom learning into meaningful practice by working alongside children, youth, families, and communities. Throughout their placement, they will gain valuable experiences in case management, community organizing, group work, child protection, psychosocial support, and various social welfare and development programs implemented by Gugma sa Kabataan, Inc.

Their field practice marks an important milestone in their journey toward becoming compassionate, competent, and ethical social work professionals committed to promoting social justice, human dignity, and the well-being of vulnerable sectors.

We are honored to serve as your learning institution and look forward to mentoring you as you develop your knowledge, skills, and values in the field of social work.

With hearts filled with sorrow yet grateful for a life well lived, the Gugma sa Kabataan, Inc. family warmly invites our partners, volunteers, former beneficiaries, friends, and supporters to join us in a Necrological Service in Loving Memory of Devine Grace G. Dagang.
