Twelve barangays in Cagayan de Oro City earned the Green Banner Award, the highest recognition under the cityโs 2026 Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro, for demonstrating strong performance in implementing local nutrition programs.
The recognition was conferred through the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, in partnership with the City Nutrition Committee (CNC) and the City Nutrition Evaluation Team (CNET), following the assessment of barangaysโ nutrition program implementation using the MELLPI Pro Tool for Barangays last April to May 2026.
The 2026 City MELLPI Pro assessed the implementation and quality of local nutrition programs, with emphasis on key areas including nutrition policies, service delivery, program management, and overall performance. Beyond measuring compliance and accomplishments, the assessment also provided an avenue to identify gaps, share good practices, and strengthen the capacity of barangay nutrition workers and local stakeholders.
Based on the 2026 MELLPI Pro results presented during the CNC 3rd Quarter Meeting on 22 September 2026, the following barangays were conferred the Green Banner Award, with corresponding cash incentives:

The Green Banner Award is given to barangays that obtain a rating of 90% to 100%, reflecting a high level of performance in local nutrition program implementation based on the MELLPI Pro assessment.
More than a measure of program performance, the recognition reflects the collective efforts of Barangay Nutrition Committees, Barangay Nutrition Action Officers (BNAOs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) and community partners who work together to bring nutrition interventions closer to families and communities.
The 2026 City MELLPI Pro further reinforces the City Governmentโs commitment to strengthening nutrition action at the barangay level. By recognizing high-performing barangays while providing guidance to address program gaps, the city aims to sustain effective nutrition interventions and promote better nutrition outcomes among Cagayan de Oro communities.
The City Nutrition Committee and City Nutrition Office congratulate the 12 Green Banner Awardee Barangays and commend their dedication and sustained efforts that contributed to their achievement.
Their recognition serves as a testament to what can be achieved when local leadership, committed nutrition workers, and community participation come together in advancing nutrition for every Kagay-anon family.
