Today, we honor the heroes who shaped our nation and gave meaning to the freedom we have today. We remember the courage of Rizal, Bonifacio, and many others who stood for the Filipino people. But beyond the names we know, there are also heroes whose stories are lived quietly every day. They are the farmers who rise early, work with their hands, and continue to care for the land that feeds us.
A farmerโs work rarely asks for recognition, but it asks for patience, strength, and dedication. Through changing weather, long days, and seasons that do not always go as planned, they continue to plant and care for the land. The food we bring to our tables begins with their hands and the work they choose to do each day. In their own quiet way, our farmers help nourish not only our families, but the country as a whole.
This National Heroes Day, we honor the heroes whose names we remember and those whose names may never appear in our history books. We honor the farmer who wakes up early, tends the soil, and keeps going because there is a family and a community depending on the harvest. Their heroism may be simple and often unseen, but it is deeply felt in every home they help feed. Today, we remember them with gratitude and recognize the important place they hold in the story of our nation.
