AMIHAN Northern Mindanao is an NGO defending and supporting the right of poor native women farmers (known as Peasants in Philippines) in Mindanao. In patriarchal Philippine society, AMIHAN aims to empower poor women farmers through alternative development policies and strategies. It advocates equal opportunities and justice for all and strongly condemns human rights violations committed particular

ly against poor native female farmers. We are strongly involved in particular to with developments in agrarian reform, agrarian unrest or the quest for land redistribution, peoples for social justice and democracy. Justice and free from persecution has always been at the heart of the struggle of small farmers and indigenous peoples in the Philippine countryside since the Spanish colonial period.
