Pokemon Go Cagayan de Oro is a vibrant community of Pokemon Go trainers in the city of Cagayan de Oro and neighboring municipalities in Northern Mindanao, Philippines. It was established in 2016 as Team “Buntagay”, which means “overnight” in a local dialect. The name reflected the passion of the players who would play and grind all night long. In 2019, the community rebranded itself as Team CDO to

better represent the city and embrace its tagline: the City of Golden Friendship. Ushering new, returnee, and visiting trainers in the regional center of Northern Mindanao. Since then, the community has been active and growing, organizing various events such as team building, parties, and activities for its members. Some of these include PVP battles, raid hours, community days, and more. Even during the pandemic, the community stayed connected and engaged through online PVP tournaments, remote raid contests, and other fun challenges. Today, Team Cagayan de Oro is part of the larger network of Pokémon Go Philippines and is constantly sharing news and updates to strengthen the bond of trainers throughout the country.
