𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 "𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴" 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲?

Today, on 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐘𝐎𝐔, the young dreamers across Mindanao who are proving that wrong every single day!

This year’s theme,"𝘋𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘴, 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘯 𝘈𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴," reminds us that while our daily realities differ, our shared hope for a sustainable future unites us all. From bustling cities to remote farming communities, young people are proving they are the active changemakers of today. In our movement, you show that a 𝗰𝗼-𝗼𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲—𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. As part of its 60th anniversary celebration, 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗦-𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗖 𝘂𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼-𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 at Coop Village, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.

More than a repository of history, the museum serves as a reminder that co-operatives began as the people's movement and continue to thrive through the shared commitment of generations working together.

It also stands as a living tribute to the pioneers, leaders, member co-operatives, and communities whose collective efforts have shaped the co-operative movement in Mindanao.

Exactly six decades ago today, a shared dream took root as the 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗖). Today, we stand proud as the heart of the Mindanawon co-operative movement—bringing financial freedom and stability to thousands of families.

We recently sat down with Mr. Robby Tulus, a pioneer of the credit union movement in the Asia-Pacific, to discuss the evolution of our advocacy. His takeaway for us was simple but profound: "It is about Commitment, Consistency, and Passion."

Far beyond boardroom policies, the Congress is the core of our community impact. For members, these deliberations deliver real-world results—better services, meaningful patronage refunds, and shared prosperity. Last week, we witnessed the 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹. Following the recent magnitude 7.5 earthquake and severe flash flooding, our fellow Mindanawons needed a lifeline, and the spirit of solidarity shone brighter than the crisis.

On August 1, 2026, MASS-SPECC joined forces with local partners to deliver essential aid to 300 vulnerable households in Barangay Tanuman and Barangay Sugal.

Because of this collective effort, families received crucial supplies to start rebuilding:
☑ 25kg sacks of rice
☑ Blankets, mats (banig), and mosquito nets
☑ Water jugs and purification tablets
☑ Biscuits

This initiative is a 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼-𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 #𝟲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 #𝟳: 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼-𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆. By leveraging our own networks, we were able to mobilize and deliver aid swiftly extending a helping hand not just to our fellow co-operators, but to every member of the community who needed it. The rice distributed was sourced directly from our member-cooperative, Sta. Catalina Multipurpose Cooperative, which also provided the logistics to get this aid to where it was needed most. This is the heart of the Co-operative Movement: using our collective strength to ensure that no one is left behind.

This initiative, “𝗟𝗨𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗝𝗔𝗦,” was made possible through the collaboration of CARE Philippines, Tijori Foundation, Humanitarian Partnership Platform, AADC, MINCODE, Monde Nissin, Federation of People’s Sustainable Development Cooperative, SEDMFI, and FSSI.

Rosalie “Ma’am Saling” Ginogaling | Makilala Multi-Purpose Cooperative

“The Comeback Story”

A solo parent, entrepreneur, and woman of remarkable strength, Ma’am Saling’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience and renewal.

After leaving a difficult marriage, she rebuilt her life from the ground up, only to face another major setback when the 2019 earthquake devastated her home and business. Yet through determination and the support of the Calamity Loan Program of Makilala MPC, she rose again.

From a humble sari-sari store, she expanded into wholesale trading, ventured into hog raising, acquired property, and eventually purchased a delivery vehicle, all while remaining a disciplined and committed co-op member.

Rosalie’s story reflects the power of perseverance strengthened by cooperation, where every fall becomes a stepping stone to a stronger rise.
