Liceo de Cagayan University has earned international recognition after being included in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, placing in the 1001–1500 band worldwide among universities advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In its first-ever participation in the global rankings, Liceo U recorded notable performances in SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

While this marks only the University's initial entry into the rankings, the recognition affirms that meaningful impact begins with consistent action. Sustainability is not defined by a single initiative, but by the collective efforts of individuals and institutions working toward a common goal.

From promoting quality education and community engagement to strengthening partnerships and responsible practices, every small step contributes to a larger outcome. What may begin as a micro initiative can, through shared commitment and sustained effort, create a lasting macro impact.

This milestone reflects the dedication of the entire Licean community and serves as an inspiration to continue building a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient future.

From serving as a dedicated Community Organizer to now leading the office, Director Krizzia’s journey reflects nearly a decade of unwavering commitment to community extension, volunteerism, and service-learning. Through the years, she has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, building partnerships, empowering communities, supporting university initiatives, and advancing Liceo’s mission of transformative service.

Her appointment is a testament to her competence, passion, and readiness to lead. As she takes on this new role, we are confident that OESL will continue to thrive under her leadership, creating greater impact and strengthening the university’s culture of service and social responsibility.
