๐ POPDEV CONVERGENCE 2026 ๐
LEAD โข INSPIRE โข EMPOWER
A meaningful day of learning, connection, leadership, and empowerment as PopDev Club officers from different schools came together for the PopDev Convergence. ๐๐ค
This convergence gave young leaders the opportunity to interact, learn from one another, share experiences, and strengthen their commitment to youth development and leadership. It was a space where different voices and ideas came together with one goalโto create a more informed, responsible, compassionate, and empowered generation.
Throughout the convergence, four important discussions highlighted the day:
๐ก๏ธ FIRST DISCUSSION: OSAEC
Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children
The first discussion focused on OSAEC, an important issue that every young person should be aware of, especially in today's digital world. The discussion emphasized the importance of awareness, online safety, responsible digital behavior, and knowing how to recognize situations that may put children and young people at risk.
We also learned about CSAEM โ Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Materials, and the importance of understanding the laws that protect children from online exploitation.
The discussion highlighted the different stages that may be involved in online exploitation:
RECRUITMENT โ GROOMING โ EXPLOITATION โ PAYMENT โ DISTRIBUTOR
It served as an important reminder that social media and online platforms should be used responsibly and safely. Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X (Twitter), Discord, Messenger, and Snapchat can help us connect with others, but awareness and responsible digital citizenship are equally important. ๐ฑ๐
๐ฑ SECOND DISCUSSION: LAUNCHING OF SWIPE SAFE
The second discussion introduced the Swipe Safe initiative, emphasizing the importance of being safe, smart, and responsible in the digital space.
As young people spend more time online, learning how to protect ourselves and others becomes increasingly important. Swipe Safe encourages us to think before we click, share, communicate, or interact online.
It reminds us that being digitally responsible is also part of being a responsible young leader. ๐
๐ญ THIRD DISCUSSION: PASIGARBO
The third discussion focused on the upcoming PopDev Club Festival of Talents โ PASIGARBO 25@28! ๐ถ๐๐บ๐จ
PASIGARBO is a celebration of the creativity, confidence, talents, and individuality of young people. It gives PopDev Club members an opportunity to showcase their abilities, express themselves, and celebrate the talents that make every young person unique.
Beyond competition, PASIGARBO is about participation, friendship, teamwork, confidence, and celebrating youth potential. ๐
๐ฅ LAST DISCUSSION: NEWLY ELECTED FEDERATION OFFICERS OF POPDEV
The final discussion introduced the newly elected Federation Officers of PopDev, marking another step forward in strengthening youth leadership and representation.
With new leaders comes a new opportunity to lead with integrity, inspire through actions, and empower fellow youth. Their roles are not simply titlesโthey represent responsibility, commitment, service, and the trust given by their fellow young people.
As we welcome the new Federation Officers, may they continue to listen to the voices of the youth, work together with different PopDev Clubs, and create meaningful opportunities for young people in their communities. ๐ค๐
At the heart of the entire convergence are three powerful words:

The PopDev Convergence reminded us that leadership is not only about being heardโit is also about listening, learning, serving, and making a difference.
From learning about online safety and youth protection, to launching Swipe Safe, preparing for PASIGARBO, and welcoming our new Federation Officers, every discussion gave us something valuable to carry forward.
