Child Protection Unit - Northern Mindanao Medical Center Child Protection Unit is a subunit of Women and Child Protection Unit (WCPU).

It is an outpatient referral or walk in unit for male and female children who are victims of abuse/suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation.

Congratulations to the newest Women and Children Protection Specialists of our Wcpu Nmmc Cdoc! This training was made possible with Child Protection Network (CPN) at the forefront and the generous support of sponsors such as International Container Services, UP PGH, UNFPA, and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. 29 May 2025 | The Wcpu Nmmc was invited by CDO Justice Zone to conduct a lecture and workshop on psychosocial processing and coping with PTSD for 200 victim-survivors from the ABSNet Shelter Homes. The event was successfully facilitated by psychologist Christopher Amata and psychometrician Camille Joy Magnanao, providing critical support to survivors of trauma. This initiative was funded by the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

July 19, 2024 | Congratulations to Dr. Ria Roble for a successful rotation at WCPU and a compelling case presentation on a 14-year-old female patient who experienced sexual abuse and methamphetamine use. The presentation, which was attended by invited guests from the CHR, PNP, LGU social worker, and Dr. Rutchel Simene, toxicologist, provided valuable insights into the complexities of this challenging case. Dr. Ria Roble is a 3rd year pediatric resident of Ma. Reyna - Xavier University Hospital.
