Lamdag of ACT

Just like a sunflower turning to the sun, our Lamdag of ACT learners have blossomed after months of tutorial sessions at the Oro Habitat Educational Center. 🌻

Last May 17, 2025, Recognition Day/Culminating program showcased that growth, celebrating every child’s curiosity, grit, and bright spirit. This success is bound by many caring hands, the gifted pre-service educators in the NSTP program, our Peace Education students, ED EE 18 students and the ever-reliable Lamdag core officers and volunteers who poured their hearts into each lesson. Together, they provided the water of knowledge and the sunlight of guidance that helped these young minds flourish.

To honor that hard work, the Lamdag of ACT family gathered “to formally witness” each learner’s achievements. Certificate, and different awards glimmered, smiles beamed, and the room felt like a field in full bloom.

Congratulations, young learners keep turning toward the light!✨🎉

"Kwento at Kalinga: Bringing Stories to Life" – Inspiring Young Minds Through Storytelling!

ED EE 18 pre-service teachers from Xavier Ateneo, under the guidance of their instructor Mr. Anito R. Librando, Jr., MAEM, brought the magic of storytelling to the children of Sitio Calaanan, Brgy. Canitoan, through an engaging service-learning activity last March 29, 2025. With animated narration, interactive discussions, and creative activities, they nurtured a love for reading while honing their teaching skills.

More than just stories, this initiative—supported by the Arrupe Educational Center’s Lamdag of ACT , as one of the student-led initiatives is led by the Xavier University- Holistic Union of General Educators , in collaboration with XU XU Social Involvement and Advocacy Program , and the National Service Training Program—became a powerful bridge between education and community service, proving that learning extends far beyond the classroom!

The 𝑳𝒂𝒎𝒅𝒂𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝑪𝑻 Unit Officers, volunteers together with 𝑵𝑺𝑷 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔, held a memorable 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒔𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒚 for the learners at 𝑶𝒓𝒐 𝑯𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒏, 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒐𝒂𝒏. This special event allowed the learners to feel the warmth of the Christmas season while including the spirit of love and sharing. Also, the learners have fun in various activities, including 𝒏𝒆𝒘𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒓 𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅-𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒓-𝑲𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒔-𝒂𝒏𝒅-𝑪𝒖𝒑, 𝑻𝒓𝒊𝒑 𝒕𝒐 𝑱𝒆𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒎 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒆 𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔. They experience receiving a gift and eating a delicious meal provided from the Lamdag of ACT. 🎄❄️

Most of all, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Arrupe Educational Center (AEC) for their continuous support and guidance throughout the initiative. Last December 4, 2024, the LAMDAG of ACT Unit Officers conducted an 𝑵𝑺𝑻𝑷 𝑶𝑹𝑰𝑬𝑵𝑻𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑵𝑺𝑻𝑷 𝑬𝑫𝑨 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔. This activity was a success, as it engaged and inspired the students to take action and make a meaningful impact.

In addition to the successful conduct of the orientation, we extend our sincere gratitude to Arrupe Educational Center and XU Social Involvement and Advocacy Program for their continued support in making the event a success.✨🌻

Last November 29, 2024, the Lamdag of ACT organized an unforgettable educational tour at Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan for their learners. This tour was aligned with the theme, "𝑷𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒕: 𝑼𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔: 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝑭𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆."✨

The learners had the opportunity to explore and enjoy the XU Festival by visiting the Museo de Oro, witnessing the enchanting puppet show "Lily's Journey," and unleashing their creativity through FIKA’s arts and science activities.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supportive partners—the Arrupe Educational Center, especially Sir Ismael Salarda and Ma'am Nathalie Sta. Elena, as well as the XU Social Involvement and Advocacy Program, particularly Sir Nestor and Ma'am Keziah.

Last September 28, 2024 and October 5, 2024, the dedicated officers and volunteers from LAMDAG of ACT, along with ED EE 11 and ED EE 13 students conducted a needs assessment survey and enrollment, making sure that the children's learning needs are addressed with thoughtfulness and dedication. This journey allows us to tailor our efforts to their specific needs, with the goal of nurturing their growth and potential. We give thanks to our Almighty God for blessing us with these wonderful opportunities to serve. Our deepest gratitude to our generous sponsors for providing the resources needed for the learners, and to the Arrupe Educational Center (AEC) and XU Social Involvement and Advocacy Program (SIAP) for their unending partnership and support. A heartfelt thank you to Sir Ismael B. Salarda and Sir Albin Jay C. Tabamo for giving us the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience the joy of service. Last September 21, 2024, the Lamdag of Act Unit Officers went to Oro Habitat for Humanity Inc. (OHHI) to organize their parents’ orientation and interview. This activity served as a great step ahead to the team to build a stronger relationship with the parents and the learners alongside their journey for this academic year. We also extend our sincere gratitude to Arrupe Educational Center (AEC) and XU Social Involvement and Advocacy Program (SIAP) for continuing their partnership and support in making the event successful. 🌻

The Teachers’ Guild Vice President, together with the Unit Officers of Lamdag of ACT, led by Ms. Krissa Catanio of DMSA and Ms. Alyssa Mipranum as Assistant Project Supervisor, alongside the HUGE officers, successfully organized a Parent Orientation for the upcoming academic year of Lamdag of ACT. During the event, Lamdag of ACT was introduced, and interviews with parents were conducted to ensure that the learning modules would be tailored to the specific needs of their children. Special thanks were extended to the Arrupe Education Office (AEC) and the Social Involvement and Advocacy Program (SIAP) for their support.

This marks the beginning of a more productive and progressive journey for the volunteer teachers.
