CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY โ€“ In celebration of the 62nd founding anniversary of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), the NIA Regional Office X hosted a Fun Run and Recreational Game Fest on June 23, with activities spearheaded by the NIAEASP Regional Office 10 Chapter, under the leadership of Engr. Gilda Glenn S. Cubita.

The event kicked off with an early morning Fun Run, bringing together employees, stakeholders, and partners in a collective show of energy, wellness, and agency pride. Participants ran along Rio de Oro Boulevard in solidarity to mark over six decades of NIAโ€™s commitment to irrigation development and nation-building.

Following the run, the celebration continued with a Recreational Game Fest that featured friendly yet competitive matches in arcade hoops, archery, billiards, bowling, and table tennis. The games promoted unity, teamwork, and wellness among NIA-X personnel across various departments.

In his message, Engr. Larry C. Franada, NIA-X Regional Manager, emphasized the importance of celebrating achievements together as a community.

โ€œThis 62nd anniversary is not just about looking back at what weโ€™ve accomplished, but also about recharging our spirit for the road ahead. May 26, 2025 โ€“ The National Irrigation Administration Employees Association for Solidarity and Progress (NIAEASP) Regional Office 10 Chapter celebrated its 38th Anniversary with the theme โ€œWorking Together, Growing Stronger,โ€ reflecting its ongoing commitment to unity and organizational development.

The program commenced with an opening message from Engr. Gilda Glenn S. Cubita, NIAEASP President, followed by a video presentation and an inspirational address by Engr. Larry C. Franada, Acting Regional Manager.

A Pre-Membership Orientation was conducted, led by Ms. Maguinda Amor P. Luces (Auditor), Ms. Aiko M. Guillerro (Secretary), and Engr. Cubita, providing insights into the associationโ€™s history, structure, and member benefits.

The celebration also featured interactive games, facilitated by Engr. Jesther O. Caรฑada, Vice President, and concluded with a fellowship lunch.

The event successfully fostered camaraderie among members while reinforcing NIAEASPโ€™s core values of integrity, excellence, and patriotism.

NIAEASP District 10 Elects New Officers for CY 2025-2027

The National Irrigation Administration Employees' Association for Solidarity and Progress (NIAEASP) District 10, successfully conducted its meeting and election of officers for the term 2025-2027.

Did you know that NIA is different from NAIA and NEA?

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) is a government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) under the Office of the President (OP). It is the lead agency mandated to develop all possible sources of water for irrigation.

On the other hand, Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is dubbed as the busiest airport in the country. Serving the Greater Metro Manila area, it is a vital hub for both domestic and international travel.

Meanwhile, the National Electrification Administration (NEA) is a GOCC attached to the Department of Energy (DOE) tasked with the full implementation of the rural electrification program (REP). It reinforces the technical capability and financial viability of rural electric cooperatives in the country.

Always remember that NIA is not the same as NAIA, and will never be NEA.

HE IS RISEN!

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) is one with the Catholic Communities around the world in celebrating Easter Sunday on March 31, 2024.

Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb on the third day after his crucifixion. It is the fulfilled prophecy of the Messiah who would be persecuted, die for our sins, and rise on the third day (Isaiah 53).

NIA Top Management Officials encourage all NIA employees to rise above the challenges and to continue doing their best to provide efficient, reliable, and sustainable irrigation service to our farmers.

Black Saturday is the seventh day of the Holy Week. It is often referred to as โ€œBlack Saturdayโ€ because black is the color which symbolizes death and mourning. It is on this day that the body of Jesus Christ lay dead in the tomb while His disciples grieved His passing.

Let us take this day as an opportunity to do something good, remembering the great deeds of Jesus Christ. Let us make a commitment to make ourselves better.
