𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗗: 87𝗞𝗚 𝗢𝗙 𝗪𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗗 🧹🌊

Today, the 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗮 took another step forward in our journey to "Clean the Present and Serve the Future." During our second field activity, covering the route from 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲 2 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲 3, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗦𝗗𝗔 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗮 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 3𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 were proud to work alongside our partners from 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗘-𝗦𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗢𝗞𝗦𝗔𝗬 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗡𝗛𝗦. Together, we successfully diverted a staggering 87kg of waste from our local ecosystem.

Our field audit revealed a community under pressure from high population density. We collected a massive volume of non-recyclable plastic, including food wrappers and even discarded clothes, alongside "malata" or biodegradable waste like food scraps and fallen leaves.

As we navigated the sectors where city garbage trucks often cannot reach, we noticed a heartbreaking commonality: residents frequently dump waste in centralized "hotspots" with the intent to burn it later. This practice is born out of necessity in areas with limited collection access, but it highlights a deeper reality. Our team is committed to returning to these specific areas to provide further assistance, yet these observations made us reflect during our session: 𝗞𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗮 𝗴𝘆𝘂𝗱 𝘂𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝗸𝗼 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗸𝘄𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝘂𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝘀𝘂𝗴𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗮 𝗻𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗮?

𝗨𝗴 𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗶 𝘁𝗮 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗸 𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗶, 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗻? 𝗞𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗶 𝘁𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗴-𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝗻𝗮 𝗺𝘂𝗯𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗮 𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆, 𝗻𝗮𝗮 𝗯𝗮 𝗴𝘆𝘂𝘆 𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗴-𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗯-𝗼𝘁? Change doesn't wait for the perfect project and budget; it waits for the people brave enough to take the first step.

We often see larger sectors equipped with every resource imaginable—money, personnel, and equipment—yet they are sometimes slowed down by complexity or a lack of direct initiative. The youth may not have those professional tools or massive funds, but we have something far more agile and transformative: Hope. Hope is Our Greatest Resource.

Our aspiration for a brighter, cleaner Bulua and Cagayan de Oro City isn't waiting for a paycheck or a formal mobilization order. We have proven that even without financial support or rewards, the youth will always find a way to serve. We believe that building a new civilization starts with individual and collective responsibility, not just institutional capacity .

By moving away from the old "Take-Make-Dispose" linear mindset toward one of active stewardship and circularity, we are proving that the most significant barriers to a clean community aren't just financial—they are mental . Our goal is to serve as a quiet inspiration for every resident and leader: 𝗜𝗳 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲.

Let this be a gentle reminder that selfless service is the most effective catalyst for change. We don't need millions to begin healing our streets; we just need the hope to believe that a more Dungganon community is worth the effort.

𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗧, 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘: 𝗭𝗢𝗡𝗘 2 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗡-𝗨𝗣 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦! 🧹🌊

Today, the Waste Heroes of Bulua hit the ground running! Following our intensive training, the ISDA Bulua Association and 3Zero Club Philippines successfully conducted our first clean-up drive across various parts of Zone 2 (Upper and Lower Bulua).

Armed with our walis ting-ting and sako bags, we moved from theory to action through a meticulous field audit that successfully diverted a total of 27kg of waste from our local ecosystem. This collection included 13kg of general plastic waste, 8kg of PET plastic bottles, and 6kg of biodegradable materials, all of which were properly managed to uphold the "Walay Usik" philosophy of wasting nothing.

During the drive, we discovered a significant amount of waste trapped in our sewers and kanal, causing severe blockages. These obstructions prevent proper drainage and pose a major risk of flooding for our neighbors in Zone 2 whenever heavy rainfall occurs. This firsthand look at "waste leakage" underscores why proper disposal and source segregation are vital for the safety of our community.

This is just the start of our journey. By following the waste hierarchy—prioritizing avoidance, reduction, and reuse—we are not just cleaning up; we are actively redesigning our relationship with waste to protect our future .

Tomorrow marks the beginning of our mission in the field! After successfully completing our Waste Hero Training, it is time for the ISDA Bulua Association and 3Zero Club Philippines to put our knowledge into action.

With 15% waste leakage reported in the Philippines, every piece of trash we collect prevents further pollution of our waterways and oceans. Tomorrow, we focus on Zone 2 (Upper and Lower) to ensure mismanaged community trash does not end up clogging our esteros.

𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗗: 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗙 𝗕𝗨𝗟𝗨𝗔'𝗦 𝗪𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗢𝗘𝗦! 🌍✨

On April 11, 2026, a new chapter for our community began at Bulua National High School. We successfully conducted the first-ever Waste Hero Training for Project Lingkod Bata, bringing together a dedicated group of young changemakers ready to redefine environmental stewardship in Bulua.

Spearheaded by the ISDA Bulua Association in partnership with the 3ZERO Club Philippine Network, this session served as the ultimate launchpad for our upcoming field activities. Our volunteers didn't just learn about waste; they committed to the creation of a new civilization free from the social and environmental challenges of our time.

The day was filled with collaborative energy, from calculating our lifetime waste footprints to designing unified "Waste Hero" Superheroes equipped with superpowers to solve Bulua's specific environmental issues . By applying Design Thinking—Empathizing, Defining, Ideating, Prototyping, and Testing—our volunteers proved that the youth are ready to lead the charge .

We have the knowledge, we have the passion, and now we have the heroes. The foundation is set, and we are ready to hit the field!
