🌊 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐍-𝐔𝐏 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐒, 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒

On September 19, 2026, UDSA scholars joined hands with fellow volunteers from the Northern Mindanao Association of DOST Scholars (NMADS) and DOST Northern Mindanao for the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, hosted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), at Sitio Fatima, Bulua Coastal Road. 🌊🌱

Guided by this year’s theme, “𝘊𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴,” more than 30 NMADS scholars came together to help maintain a cleaner and healthier coastal environment. Their efforts formed part of a larger initiative across 12 coastal areas, extending from Brgy. Bulua to Brgy. Bugo.

Beyond the pursuit of scholarly excellence, the initiative reminds us that service extends beyond the classroom. Through our time, collective effort, and sense of responsibility, we turn our knowledge and dedication into meaningful contributions that serve our community and create a positive impact.

𝗘𝗬𝗘𝗦 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 | 𝟭𝟬 𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗣 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 ₱𝟭𝟬𝟬𝗞 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀
Student innovation gets a boost as 10 teams from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) each receive ₱100,000 in seed funding to further develop their startup concepts.
The teams emerged as winners of the Trailblazer Startuplab Student Bootcamp 2026, held August 24–26 at N Hotel, Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City, spearheaded by USTP’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (CET).
The initiative makes USTP the first in Northern Mindanao and one of the first universities in the country to directly invest in student-led startup ideas at this stage, sending a clear message that student ideas are not just classroom projects. They can be investment-worthy ventures with real potential
As a partner institution, DOST Northern Mindanao continues to support initiatives that strengthen the region’s startup ecosystem and served as one of the panel members during the Bootcamp’s Demo Day, providing technical and entrepreneurial perspectives in evaluating the teams’ concepts.
The winning teams and other bootcamp graduates may also continue their incubation journey at CDObites, a DOST-supported Technology Business Incubator nurturing the local startup ecosystem since 2016.
From ideas to potential ventures, Trailblazer Startuplab is helping young innovators build, test, and bring their ideas to life.
