Today we observe Amun Jadid, also known as the Islamic New Year, which marks the beginning of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar. This occasion is a meaningful time for reflection, spiritual renewal, and renewed faith.
For many Muslim communities, Amun Jadid is a moment to look back on the past year with gratitude and move forward with hope, compassion, and purpose. It highlights the values of peace, unity, and personal growth.

𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 | #𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥

On June 8, 2026, a devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Mindanao, causing widespread damage and leaving numerous families in a state of uncertainty.

While the earthquake was felt across Mindanao, some of the heaviest burdens now rest on the shoulders of families in Davao Occidental. As communities begin the long and difficult process of recovery, many remain in urgent need of assistance, support, and hope.

In response, the DOST Organization of the Nation's Scholars for Science and Education (DOST-ONSSE) launches this donation drive to support affected families in Davao Occidental. More than a donation drive, this initiative is a testament to the values of Social Responsibility and Servant Leadership—standing with Davao Occidental, mobilizing support, and serving those who need it most.

Every donation, no matter the amount, can help provide immediate relief and bring communities one step closer to recovery. Together, let us transform compassion into action and embody the true spirit of bayanihan.
