🌊 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐔𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐲 2026 | 𝑪𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝑺𝒆𝒂𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔

On September 19, 2026, 𝐍𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐒 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬, together with the 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨, took part in the International Coastal Clean-Up Day project, “𝘾𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙎𝙚𝙖𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨,” hosted by the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 (DENR).

For this year’s initiative, more than 30 𝐍𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐒 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 joined the coastal clean-up efforts assigned at 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐚, 𝐂𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, contributing their time and effort toward maintaining a cleaner and healthier coastal environment.

The activity was part of a wider coastal clean-up initiative covering 12 coastal areas, stretching from the Brgy. Bulua Coastal Area to the Brgy. Bugo Coastal Area. Through the collective efforts of volunteers, communities, and partner organizations, the activity aims to promote environmental responsibility and strengthen community participation in protecting our coastal ecosystems.

Beyond collecting waste, the initiative highlights the importance of collective action in keeping our seas clean and our coastal communities resilient. As DOST scholars, our participation reflects our commitment to extending the value of science, service, and community involvement beyond the classroom. 🌱

Together, let us continue to care for our seas, protect our coastal communities, and inspire meaningful action for a cleaner and more sustainable future. 💙

Today, we join communities around the world in observing 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐔𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐲, a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect our oceans, shorelines, and marine ecosystems. 🌏🌊

Our coastlines are home to diverse marine life and provide food, livelihood, and protection for many communities. Through simple acts such as collecting waste, reducing plastic use, and practicing proper waste disposal, we can help keep these spaces clean and safe for both people and nature.

Let this day remind us that caring for our environment is not a one-day responsibility. Every small effort, when done together, can contribute to cleaner shores, healthier seas, and more sustainable communities.
