CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Committed to advancing digital education and bridging the technology gap across the 1st district of Cagayan de Oro, Kikang Uy has announced, during his meeting with SK Federation Officials and Members, his plan to prioritize the establishment of E-Learning Hubs in all barangays, with a special focus on the hinterland areas where access to educational resources remains limited.
Each E-Learning Hub will be fully equipped with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) resources, including computers, high-speed internet connection, printers, other essential digital learning tools. The initiative seeks to create an environment where students and out-of-school youth can access educational materials, undergo digital literacy training, and complete academic tasks without barriers.
Kikang Uy emphasized that investing in education is the foundation of sustainable progress. According to him, "𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐲𝐮𝐝𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡," highlighting that access to education and digital tools empowers young people not just for today, but for their future careers and contributions to society.
The E-Learning Hubs are envisioned to support both formal learners and those engaged in alternative learning systems, helping bridge educational gaps brought about by geographical isolation or economic limitations. This long-term investment in youth development forms part of Kikang Uy's broader platform for inclusive and future-ready governance.
Through this program, Kikang Uy aims to position Cagayan de Oro as a model city for youth empowerment and digital education in Mindanao and beyond.
