When we said the dress code was a suggestion, we lied. 💅🌕✨

If there’s one thing you need to know about the Cagayan de Oro Toastmasters Club, it’s that we don’t just deliver speeches with confidence—we deliver looks. Every single meeting has a unique theme, and most of our members take the dress code very seriously. We don’t just show up; we come in pure style and fashion.

In honor of our Mid-Autumn celebration, a few of our members completely channeled the magic of the afternoon. Sliding right out of the Moon Palace and straight onto the stage, we’d like to introduce our very own Lunar Fairies of the afternoon! 🧚‍♀️🎑

Came for the speeches, stayed for the international fashion show. 💅🎑

Last Saturday, the Cagayan de Oro Toastmasters Club traded our usual corporate look for something a bit more magical. We celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with the theme "Many Cultures, One Moon, Endless Reunions," paying tribute to the beautiful traditions of our neighboring countries.

While the speeches were incredible, we have to talk about the absolute highlight of the afternoon: the Best Dressed competition.

Our very own Club President, TM Abu Habil L. Maritess, completely stole the spotlight and took home the award in a traditional Korean Hanbok. She was truly the Moon Goddess. And, honestly, it suited her so perfectly she looked like she walked straight off the set of a historical K-drama regal palace! 👑✨

It was an afternoon filled with culture, connection, and a reminder that no matter where we come from, we’re all sharing the same sky (and the same stage).

🌕 Many Cultures, One Moon, Endless Reunions! ✨

Yesterday, the Cagayan de Oro Toastmasters Club transformed into a colorful cross-cultural celebration as we joined the rest of Asia in celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival! 🏮

From breathtaking traditional costumes representing China, Korea, Vietnam, and Japan to a room filled with brilliant speeches, fun-filled laughter, and powerful leadership lessons, our educational meeting was truly one for the books. 🥰

It was so much more than just a club meeting—it was a heartwarming homecoming of cherished friends, inspiring speakers, and dedicated leaders coming together under one shared sky.

Thank you to everyone who wore their cultural best, shared their stories, and made the energy in the room so bright and convivial. Here’s to more learning, laughing, and lifelong friendships! 🥂

We’re gathering next Saturday afternoon to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, and we’d love for you to join us.

The theme is Many Cultures, One Moon, Endless Reunions. If you look across Asia, this festival goes by different names and has different customs, but everyone is looking up at the exact same full moon. It’s a great reminder of how much we all have in common, which is exactly what our club is about—bringing different voices together in one room.

We’re also leaning into the festive spirit with our outfits. Feel free to wear anything inspired by Chinese, Korean, Japanese, or Vietnamese fashion, whether you want to go fully traditional or put a modern twist on it.

Here are the details if you want to drop by:

📅 When: Saturday, September 26, 2026 | 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM
📍 Where: 11th Street Cafe (11th - 15th St. Nazareth, Cagayan de Oro City)

No Retro Rewind blockbuster is complete without the grand finale awards. At our last Cagayan de Oro Toastmasters Club educational meeting, the competition was fierce, the outfits were loud, and these three absolute legends walked away with the top honors!

Here is your arcade leaderboard of the afternoon:

The Impromptu Champion: Toastmaster Lee Ngat (Alandino A. Lingat, Jr.) brought the ultimate quick wits to the floor, thinking fast on his feet to crush the curveball questions and take home Best Table Topics Speaker. Talk about arcade-level reflexes! 👾🎙️

The Master Critic: Toastmaster Abu Habil L. Maritess swooped in to win Best Speech Evaluator. Her feedback was so sharp, structured, and constructive that it served as the ultimate recipe for success to help our speakers level up. 📝💎

The Ultimate Double-Flex: And the undisputed star of the show was our Toastmaster of the Day, Toastmaster Ian Noel Valleser! Not only did he anchor the entire program with flawless retro energy, but he also walked away with the highly coveted Best Dressed award. Serving looks and leadership? True main character energy! 👔✨

A great meeting becomes unforgettable when your guest list brings elite energy. During our Retro Rewind educational meeting, we didn’t just welcome visitors—we gained a whole new fan club!

A massive round of applause to the 3 incredible guests who stopped by the Cagayan de Oro Toastmasters Club to watch us level up our speaking skills while rocking our best 80s and 90s throwbacks. 🧥👾
