Gospel: Mark 3:7-12

'The faith of the people"

As we continue to pray through the passage in Mark, we see that Jesus continued to heal many people. News of his works spread from Jerusalem, Idumea, Jordan, Tyre and Sidon. Many people put their faith in Jesus, and many more wanted to come close to him.

As we go deeper into the Gospel, can you imagine how big the crowd was who put their faith in Jesus, hoping to be saved? In today's world, Jesus needs our help to bring salvation to many. The disciples are few, but those who desire Jesus are many.

We are invited to help Jesus reach the pressing crowds. Help Jesus to heal these people.

Holy Spirit, grant us the grace to become disciples of Christ, so that He may be able to reach those who are thirsty for Him.

Gospel: Luke 16:9-15

You cannot serve God and mammon

Jesus reminds His disciples that no one can serve two masters. He teaches that faithfulness in small things reflects faithfulness in greater ones, and warns against loving wealth more than God. What truly matters is not outward appearance or human approval, but the sincerity of our hearts before God.

In a world driven by success, money, and status, this Gospel challenges us to examine what rules our hearts. Do we serve God wholeheartedly, or are we divided between faith and worldly attachments? True richness lies in living with integrity and using what we have to love others.

Lord Jesus, purify our hearts from greed and selfishness. Holy Spirit, help us be trustworthy stewards of Your blessings and serve God above all else. Amen.

Gospel – Luke 15:1–10

“This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

In today’s Gospel, Jesus shares the parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin, revealing the heart of a God who never stops seeking the lost. His love is personal, patient, and relentless — a love that rejoices more over one sinner who returns than over many who never wandered away.

There are moments when we may feel unworthy or too distant from God. Yet His mercy never tires; His grace always finds a way to reach us. Like the shepherd who finds his sheep and the woman who finds her coin, God rejoices over every heart that returns to Him — and calls us to do the same for others.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your endless mercy and unfailing love. Holy Spirit, fill us with compassion for the lost, and help us to rejoice in every soul that finds its way back to You. Amen.

November 3, 2025 – Monday
Gospel – Luke 14:12–14

“Blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you.”

Jesus reveals to us the beauty of selfless giving — the kind that mirrors God’s own love. During a meal, He reminds the Pharisee not to invite only friends or the wealthy who can return the favor, but also the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. True generosity expects nothing in return; it finds its reward in the very act of love itself.

In today’s world, giving is often tied to recognition or personal gain. Yet Jesus invites us to a deeper, purer form of generosity — one that reaches out to those who cannot repay us, to the forgotten and unseen. Every hidden act of kindness becomes a seed of grace, a treasure stored in heaven.

Prayer:
Father, teach us to give freely and love without measure. Help us find joy not in being repaid, but in knowing that we share in the boundless generosity of Your heart. Amen.

Gospel: John 6:37–40

“For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him up on the last day.” (cf. John 6:40)

In believing in Jesus, who was raised from the dead, we embrace the hope of eternal life that the Father desires for all His children.

Jesus, our way to the Father, has revealed to us the kind of life that leads to eternity — a life of faith, love, and obedience to God’s will. This is not just a promise, but the very truth of our faith.

As we remember our departed loved ones in prayer today, may we also be reminded that our journey on earth leads us home to the Father — our true and final destination.

Lord Jesus, grant eternal rest to our loved ones, and guide us to live each day in the light of Your promise of resurrection. Amen.

November 1, 2025 – Saturday
Gospel: Matthew 5:1–12a
“Blessed are You.”

In anticipation of the greater joy that the Kingdom of God brings, the Saints chose to let go of worldly comforts. They lived not for fleeting pleasures, but for the everlasting happiness that comes from union with God.

Through the Beatitudes, Jesus teaches us the true path to holiness — a life rooted in humility, mercy, and faithfulness. He calls us to live with hope for the Kingdom of Heaven, where eternal joy awaits those who remain steadfast in love.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, as we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints, inspire us to follow the example of the faithful men and women who have gone before us. May we live lives worthy of Your calling, so that those who come after us may also find us faithful. Amen.

October 31, 2025 – Friday
Gospel: Luke 14:1–6
"Is it lawful to cure on the Sabbath or not?" (Luke 14:3)

In today’s Gospel, Jesus challenges the customs surrounding the Sabbath as He heals a man suffering from dropsy. Through this act, He reveals that compassion knows no boundaries — not even the limits imposed by law or tradition.

Sometimes, we hesitate to do good. We question people’s intentions, doubt their sincerity, or wait for the “right moment.” Yet, in doing so, we often lose the opportunity to show kindness. True compassion acts with love, not calculation.

Prayer:
Lord, teach us to be steadfast in compassion, just as You are steadfast in Your love for us. May we act with mercy beyond hesitation and be inspired by Your radical love. Amen.

October 30, 2025 – Thursday
Gospel: Luke 13:31–35
"Yet I must continue on my way today, tomorrow, and the following day." (Luke 13:33)

In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks of Jerusalem’s repeated rejection of God’s messengers, the prophets who came in His name. Yet, even in the face of threats and hostility, Jesus remains steadfast in fulfilling His mission of love and mercy. No obstacle or danger could ever hinder the boundless compassion of God for His people.

Jesus’ courage reveals His unwavering obedience to the Father’s will and His deep longing to gather all of God’s children into His embrace.

Reflection:
There are moments in our lives when we meet people who seem resistant to change or distant from God’s grace. In such times, may we remember Jesus’ example—patient, hopeful, and steadfast in love despite rejection.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to remain faithful to Your mission even when faced with discouragement. Teach us to keep a hopeful heart, just as You did, trusting in the power of Your mercy to transform every heart. Amen.

Saint Narcissus of Jerusalem
Feast Day: October 29

St. Narcissus was the 30th bishop of Jerusalem, known for his holiness, wisdom, and deep devotion to the Church. He lived a long life of service, guiding the early Christian community with faith and courage. Despite being falsely accused by his enemies, he forgave them completely, showing great humility and trust in God.

After being vindicated, St. Narcissus returned to serve the Church once more, even in his old age. He is remembered for his miracle during the Easter Vigil, when he turned water into oil to keep the lamps burning in the church.

Prayer:
Lord, through the intercession of St. Narcissus, may we live lives of patience, forgiveness, and unwavering faith in You. Amen.

October 29, 2025 – Wednesday
Gospel: Luke 13:22-30
"Strive to enter through the narrow gate" (Luke 13:24)

In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks of those who expected to be saved but found themselves unable to enter the narrow gate. These are people who become complacent in their faith—aware of His presence, hearing His words, and perhaps doing some good—but believing that salvation comes easily or conveniently. Jesus reminds us that there is no shortcut to eternal life; the path to salvation is the narrow gate we must actively strive to enter.

Sometimes, we may feel proud of our good deeds, thinking they make us more deserving or worthy. But true worthiness comes from humility and a sincere pursuit of God’s Kingdom above all worldly desires. It is in this humble journey that we find the strength and grace to walk through the narrow gate.

Prayer:
Jesus, help us to cultivate humble hearts and follow You faithfully, striving always to enter through the narrow gate. Amen.
