The voyage continues! We are thrilled to announce the OFFICIAL date for the Inter-Class Debate Competition GRAND FINALS.

As we navigate the vast seas of our nation’s future, our debaters will take the helm to tackle one of the most challenging currents in our legal system. Get ready for a fierce clash of intellect as they weigh the anchors of justice and accountability:

⚖️ THE PROPOSITION: "The minimum age of criminal responsibility in the Philippines should be lowered from 15 to 12 years old."

Will lowering the age safeguard our future, or must we look to our history of child protection to guide our path? Join us as we explore the deep waters of this critical issue.

🎉 HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN's MONTH 💜🩷

✍🏻 'We are not props in your commentary. Every time a woman is reduced to a cheap remark by someone holding public office, we tell the next generation of women exactly where they stand.' 🗣️✊🏻

Words from Anne Curtis, that don't just flash on your screen— but it leaves a deep message for everyone; women are not— and never would be just a subject for your malicious imagination.

A “public servant” must serve the people, not serve their self satisfaction: by indulging their conscious mind with the intimate imagination of a woman.

On this day, March 8' 2026, we celebrate with gratitude and awe to all the wonderful, and historic women not just in the Philippines, but in the whole world.

With this year's sub-theme “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”; we honor the women who fought wholeheartedly for the independence of our motherland— the Philippines, against the vicious invaders of our land: like the revolutionary leader, Gabriela Silang; Melchora Aquino ("Tandang Sora"), who nursed Katipuneros; and Teresa Magbanua, a schoolteacher-turned-general. These evidently solidify the excellence, strength and prowess of the women, written in our history, their “herstory”. 🇵🇭 💜 ⚔️

Nevertheless, the grit and legacy of women never stop there. Their herstory continued up to this day. Like the lady recognizable for pink roses, the welfarist, the social liberalist, the woman who advocates for human rights, anti-poverty programs, women's rights, and transparent, "bottom-up" governance— the former Vice President–now Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo. 👩🏻‍⚖️🩷

And the first Olympics gold medalist of the Philippines, the woman who broke the shackles that defines what a woman should be, the woman of great perseverance, Hidilyn Diaz. 🏋🏻💜

Today, with the national theme for women's month: WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society, and our HIMULAT 2026 theme: Sakay na sa Balangay, Dala ang ating Kasaysayan, Tungo sa ating Kinabukasan. 💜🩵

We navigate the world full of “ghost” promises about gender and human rights. With pride and honor for our women in history; and hope for the great women of the modern world, we stand for gender equality rights, for women rights, for human rights. 🗣️📢

𝓗𝓲𝓶𝓾𝓵𝓪𝓽 2026: 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙨, 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨 𝘿𝙚𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙚 and Extemporaneous Speaking Contest 🗣️💙

The Debate Semi-Finals and Extemporaneous Speaking Contest of HIMULAT 2026 successfully highlighted the intelligence, confidence, and critical thinking skills of our students as they tackled timely national issues and expressed their ideas with clarity and conviction.

For the Debate Competition, the following teams emerged victorious and will advance to the Championship Round:

Topic: “Mining should be banned in the Philippines due to its environmental impact.”

📌Winner: Team 5 (Negative) – ACAD C-3 & ACAD C-8

Topic: “The Philippines should adopt a more aggressive military stance in the West Philippine Sea dispute.”

📌Winner: Team 2 (Negative) – ACAD B-2 & ACAD D-1

Meanwhile, the Extemporaneous Speaking Contest showcased the remarkable speaking abilities of our participants.

SineHumanista 3.0 aims to foster creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication skills among students pursuing Humanities and Social Sciences. This unique competition provides an opportunity for young Humanistas to express their ideas, perspectives, and insights on various social, cultural, and humanistic themes through the powerful medium of film.
